Hello there! Welcome to Illecebrous. This right here is multiple small stories between Alucard and an alux known as (Y/N) Uitz. What you currently see here will be the information page and just a bit of stuff to better understand parts of the story and the creature (Y/N) is. You are more than welcome to skip this.
If you have read my other stories, you would probably expect to see one of the others I have mentioned instead of this, which one of them is out! I had this one character making concept come to mind and thought it would be cute. I shared the design above with a friend, and they recommended I share it and make short stories/oneshots that fit together rather than a full long one like I normally do!
Due to the fact it will be random short stories rather than a full one, I thought this would be nice to have and share and update whenever so there isn't too much pressure on writing. This can be thought of as my short break to update and randomly and keep me going.
In the story, I have given the reader a last name due to her background origins.
Now, what I write here is not going to be 100% accurate to an alux, but rather is my own take on the mythological creatures in this concept!
Alux or Aluxo'ob (plural) are spirit-like creatures, their names given from the Maya of the Yucatan peninsula area. They are good spirits that are about knee-high and typically are dressed like the Maya people. Tradition states that aluxo'ob are generally invisible but do take on a physical form to communicate and / or frighten humans. They are normally associated with nature.
Aluxo'ob are creatures that care for the corn fields. They are called into being when a farmer builds a little house on his property. For seven years, the aluxo'ob will care for the fields by helping the corn grow, summoning rain, and patrol the fields at night. They whistle to scare off predators or crop thieves, and at the end of the seven years, the farmer must seal the doors and windows of the little house to trap the aluxo'ob inside. If it is not done, the aluxo'ob will run wild and start playing tricks on people.
Other stories also state they will ask farmers and travelers for an offering. If they are treated with respect, they can protect the farmers from thieves or even bring good luck, but if their conditions aren't met, they will wreak havoc and spread illnesses.
Of course, I would like to warn readers. I do give the option for things such as hair, eyes, and skin, but for this story, I will warn you I may mention her height. She appears small to Alucard due to the fact that at the time, Mayan women only grew to around 4'8" or 142.24 centimeters while males grew to around 5'2" or 157.48 centimeters They were tiny people. Tiny but mighty.
The (Y/N) in this story is mainly based on the alux of Mayan civilization, though her outfit may vary sometimes since many other civilizations had the same type of creature, just with a different name. For example, for the Mexicas, their names were the Chaneque. Despite the time period she is in, she and her friend, along with the farmers who she works for, stick to Mayan looks and culture. If anyone has fun information about the civilizations, be it clothes, fight styles, stories, etc, I'm happy to learn it. I did a lot of research while writing/researching for this stories character, along with reading about myths and the language of the Yucatec Maya.
Anyway! The picture above is how I would view her. Style wise, of course. The outfit is based mainly on the triangular quechquemitl of a Yucatan Postclassic noblewoman! Though some looks vary through each age due to the fact she lives through it all!
Oh! I will be open to hearing requests on short stories/oneshots you would like to read between Alucard and (Y/N) also!
Enjoy the story!
