Real King of Hearts' POV:
I watched the players from one out of twenty one monitors. All players on the first floor waited patiently for instruction. I took a deep breath as the front doors closed, and I started the recording. "Registration is now closed." It said. "One of you will be selected as the King of Hearts as of now. The real King of Hearts will be instructing the chosen King of Hearts from a private location. Everyone: hold out your hands." This was my cue. I looked down at the controls. My hand hovered over a round black button that triggered the gunshot sound effect. I turned the lights off and I flicked the switch of my microphone and started speaking to the assigned King of Hearts. "Act normal, and do not respond to me." I started. The blonde haired man on the screen slightly gasped. I continued to speak. "You will not be given anything. I'll do the killing, you just need to find the players." I pressed the black button and a laser shot a woman a few players left of the King while a gunshot sound played loudly, startling everyone in the room. The lights turned back on and people began to panic. I turned the lights back off and pushed another button. The audio played, explaining the game to the players. "Ren, we need to go hide now." The blonde haired man said. Him and two other players started up the stairs. "King of Hearts: You will be instructed throughout the game. Your goal is to find and kill all players before they've made it outside the building. Look for each checkpoint in the building with the real King's indirect guidance. If you've killed every other player, but have not found all checkpoints, you will be eliminated. Blend in so you do not get caught. Any attempt to kill yourself will result in an electric shock." The man sighed. He explained to the other two players that they needed to split up. When the announcements were over, the man hid himself in a storage closet. I spoke again. "King of Hearts: are you ready for your first instruction?" He hesitated and started to cry. "....I'm ready." He said.
Chishiya's POV:
"I'm sitting in a room with 21 monitors on night mode in front of me. I can guide you towards each player, but not all spots have cameras." I nodded and listened to the real King's instructions. "There's a lobby on each floor, two elevators, one in each hallway, and two sets of stairs, one in each hallway. The lobby cameras do rotate, but the exit cameras do not. This means that on each floor I can only see the lobby, and the ends of each hallway, but not the middle of the hallways or inside the rooms. If you find a player I'll need you to tell me so I can kill them, but if there's more than one in a room, don't say anything. Just keep looking for checkpoints and other players. Understood?" I took a moment to process what he said and I nodded again. I walked out of the closet as the 5 minute timer went off. I heard screams coming from down the stairs. The people who hadn't made it up were killed and the game officially begun. I slowly walked around looking for a bright light. I kept my eyes on moving figures in the dark to figure out where people were going. I saw a small group of people walk into a room and I followed. I stood at the door and listened to each person's voice.
Ren's POV:
I was looking through a room on the top floor with Niragi. "Shouldn't it be obvious where the checkpoint is if it's lit up in a dark room?" I asked. "That's exactly why I said we shouldn't start in one of these rooms, it's too easy" he whispered back. We continued to look while everyone else left, quickly giving up on looking any harder. One other person stayed. I kept the shadowy figure at the corner of my vision. Something felt strange about them. After a minute or two of looking in every corner of the room my attention was brought back to them. I heard a tear from a book. I looked over to see someone standing in the corner with a book and a lone page. They took a pen out of their pocket and started writing something. I tried to ignore and kept looking for the checkpoint. "Hey, let's move to the next room." I said to Niragi, nervously. He began following me out.
Real King of Hearts' POV:
I watched my player walk out of a room and to the lobby. He wandered to the other hallway amongst the crowd. He stood and watched everyone. Confused, I turned my mic on. "What are you doing? Somebody just walked into the room at the end of the hall alone." I said to him. He just continued to stay still. Everyone walked in a group to the end of the hallway, and as soon as everyone left the last room he turned around and watched them begin to look frantically when they realised they couldn't find it. He finally moved to the room at the end of his hallway where the loner was still looking for the checkpoint. He whispered to me. "In this room" he said in a very low tone. I pressed the button and waited for the king to walk out of the room. Before he walked out, two other players walked towards the room. "Shit!" I yelled. "There's two players approaching the room! Hide, quickly!" I said panicking. The players walked into the room, and just as they walked in I heard them scream. "You killed him! The King of Hearts, you're the King of Hearts!" One of them yelled. The large group of people began to walk towards the room together. My heart pounded. "No! It's only the beginning of the game!" I shouted as I banged my fists on my desk. The group of people walked in and gasped. "Is that him?! The King of Hearts?!" a player said. "It's alright, we killed him. Now..I guess there needs to be another King of Hearts." The players all mumbled to each other. I sighed and turned on the announcement. "The King of Hearts has been eliminated. A new King of Hearts will be chosen. King of Hearts: please listen carefully for your instructions. There are 21 minutes remaining. The game will continue in 3, 2, 1..." I started speaking to the new king. "King of Hearts..." I began.
