When it comes to writing a love story, there are so many components that you must put into play. Where do you want to start? When do you want to start? How do you want it to start? So many questions that it seems so difficult to begin. But what if we just throw out the normality of story writing and just go with what comes to mind? Write out our thoughts and emotions? Maybe then we can find it easier to tell a story. This will be a fictional tale forged from the dreams and ideas of a struggling adult that seeks an escape within the ink of pages. Love stories tend to be overrated and drug out, they are rarely factual and present a false sense of hope in young adults seeking to understand what it means to be in love. The fairytales we all grew up with take about children starting at the ages of 16 finding love at first sight, whether it be with a prince or not isn't the point. In every story the girl is a damsel in distress and a prince saves her, but is that really the case? Sleeping beauty was kissed by the prince after she was cursed by a wicked witch, or so children were told to believe. As we got older and started looking into the true stories we uncover a much darker truth. Happily ever after simply do not exist, we can have a modern version of a happily ever after but there will always be pain and suffering, the whole part of loving is learning. Love requires dedication, mistakes, forgiveness, and belief. True love is never easy, there will always be something that makes you doubt the truth, the key is knowing when to fight and when to roll over. We are human, we make mistakes, learning from our mistakes helps us grow stronger and finding someone who is willing to work through our mistakes with us is very important. Making sure the person you are with won't give up just because you break is important to a lasting relationship. Unlike the fairytales we grew up learning about, love is difficult, it is painful, and sometimes it just sucks. But with time and faith you will find a love that stays through the dark times and turns around to show you the light and show you that no matter what they will always be there. It took me many years to find the one, after years of trauma and abuse, after feeling like I was never going to be happy, I found the one that makes all the pain go away just with a touch of his hand. Love is never supposed to be easy; you must go through some trauma to know if it is real. But no one wants to read about that do they? They just want the good old fairytales where the prince saves the girl, and they get hitched and live happily ever after. Here's to the good times, to the princes fighting dragons, and the princesses sitting in towers, here is a love story for the modern walks of life. Here is The Lustful.
