A few minutes passed as Anthony and our three heros walked down the road to Petalburg City. "When we reach the city, find a place to rest. Come to the exit of the city once you've done everything you need to. I'll train you after that and then I'll be leaving," Anthony said. "What type of training will we be doing?" Ashton asked.
"Training for a new move I've been working on. If you're able to learn it, you'll be one of two people who can use the move. I'm the only one who can use it, obviously," Anthony said. They walked for a few minutes until they arrived at the city. "Right. I'm off to the exit. Remember, do everything you need to do," Anthony said before walking away.
"We should head to the Pokemon center and sign up for the Battle Frontier!" Ashton said. "Battle Frontier? What's that?" Angela asked. "Wait, you don't know? You're from Hoenn. Isn't it like, a big deal for you guys?" Justin asked. "I've never heard of it. Is it a pro thing?" Angela asked. "I...guess?" Ashton said. "It's a tournament where trainers battle for the chance to become a champion. Me and Ash battled in The Kanto League Tournament and the Johto League. We both lost though. That's why we came here. To battle in the Battle Frontier and become a champion," Justin said.
They started walking down the road while continuing their conversation. "I see. I'm not really interested in becoming a champion," Angela said. She looked at Mudkip, who was on her shoulder, and rubbed it's head. "I just wanted to become a trainer so I could see all types of adorable Pokemon," Angela said. They arrived at the Pokemon Center and walked inside. The nurse at the front desk saw them and waved.
The three trainers walked up to her. "Hi. My name is Ashton. I'm here to sign up for the Battle Frontier," Ashton said. "Same. My name is Justin," Justin said. "I see. You know the qualifications, right?" The nurse asked. "Yep! Eight Gym Badges!" Ashton said. "Well, I'll sign you up for now and you can show your Gym Badges to the person at the front desk," The nurse said as she wrote down their names, took their pictures, and typed something on her computer.
"Ok guys, let's go find Anthony," Ashton said. They all walked out of the Pokemon center and started walking through the city. Along the way, they saw a building with a brown roof and a sign that read, "Petalburg Gym!".
"Oh! The Gym! Let's get our first Gym Badge," Justin said. Angela walked forward and took a deep breath. "Guys. I know the Gym Leader," Angela said. "You do? How?" Ashton asked. "You'll see," Angela said with a grin as she pushed the door open and the three trainers walked in. The first thing they noticed was a man sitting in a chair, eating a plate of food.
He looked up and noticed the three trainers. The first person was Angela. "Angela?" The Gym Leader asked. "Yep!" Angela said. He quickly ate the last bite of his food and ran towards Angela. He grabbed her and pulled her into a big hug. "It's been so long! How have ya been?" The Gym Leader asked. "I'm fine Dad. I became a Pokemon trainer!" She said, hugging back. "Dad?!" Ashton and Justin exclaimed.
The Gym Leader looked over and saw them. "Oh? And who might you be?" He asked. "Dad. These are my friends, Ashton and Justin. I've been traveling with them. They're really strong trainers, so they've been teaching me how to be a trainer," Angela said. "I see. Thank you for helping my daughter out," He said. "You're welcome, Mr Angela's Dad," Ashton and Justin said at the same time while bowing.
