a/n: it will be Ru's POV unless specified otherwise

I rush out of the house, making sure to be quiet so I don't wake up my father, keeping my hood and ears drooped over my face, making sure no one can see the characteristics my quirk gave me.

I nervously shuffle my way into the UA school gates, hoping I don't bump into anyone. Just as I mention not bumping into anyone, I run into someone and fall down, making sure my face isn't visible as I fall. I land on my butt, hard, but don't make any noise.

"S-sorry. I-I r-really d-didn't m-mean t-to b-bump i-into y-you," I stutter looking down, as I try to gather all the books I just dropped while standing up, making sure to check to see if my pills are still in my backpack, sighing in relief when I see them.

"I-I'll j-just l-leave n-now," I say as I scuffle into the MPR, where Mic is explaining the rules and obstacles of the exam. Just as I sit down, a student with blue hair interrupts him, saying he left out one of the robots that was just about to be explained.

I was too scared to confront him and correct his mistake. Thankfully, a blond with puffy hair and an explosive quirk corrected him, though in a much less polite way than I would have. I sighed, grateful someone told the blue haired student, but I made sure to keep my face hidden.

After that, the exam started and I rushed in before Present Mic said go. Everyone else started to complain and I started to get more anxious before he yelled "battles don't wait for you GO GO GO!" I started to destroy the robots that headed in my direction with relative ease. Just then the zero pointer showed up and I saw a girl with a cute haircut, trapped under rubble, struggling to get out.

Without really thinking, I rushed in and started to claw rubble off of her as a boy with green hair and freckles ran past me, jumping up before pulling his hand back and hitting the huge zero pointer, knocking it down, though he seemed to have broken his arm. He didn't have control of his quirk, making me guess two reasons. Either he received his quirk recently, or he just hadn't trained it for years.

I turned my attention away from him and turned my attention back to the girl. My hood fell off sometime earlier without me realizing it, making her stare at my features. My eyes widened when I didn't feel the hood of my sweater so I pulled it back up, though I knew she already saw.

"A-are y-you a-alright?" I ask, ignoring the awkward situation that just happened. "Yeah," she said a little breathlessly. Before she could say anything else, I turned and started to destroy other robots, heading in the opposite direction as her. I found an alley with nothing in or around it sitting down against the furthest wall of the alley and starting to hyperventilate, memories from the past flooding in. I almost lost consciousness when someone touched my shoulder. I flinched and scrambled to get away, tripping over my own feet.

My vision started to get blurrier and blurrier when I heard someone start to talk to me in a calm, gentle voice. After a few minutes went by, I finally calmed down, taking a deep breath of air. However, instead of smelling the refreshing scent of cement, I took a whiff an alpha's pheromones, recognizing them as they belonged to the person I bumped into earlier.

When I looked up, I say a boy with half white half red hair and two different colored irises. "T-thanks f-for t-that." I attempted to smile at him, but failed, too tired to even try to pretend. I lost consciousness after that, leaving my wellbeing in the hands of a strange alpha.
