BEHIND THESE WALLS

CHAPTER 3

Agnes always have a chance of getting her way no matter the circumstances she was always lucky.

The next day she went to her work place so early as always, of course she had a lot of cases on her desk but they were cases that wouldn't take her more than a day to figure out. Still she had to take care of them before complaining.

"Ah" She looked up at Bella who seemed to be in a lot of pain.

"Are you okay Bella?" She asked with concern.

"She has been complaining of stomach pain" She looked up at Stella who just walked in.

"Have you told boss?" She asked.

"Yeah, boss gave her the day off till she recovers but she's too stubborn she insisted on working today" Stella said.

"The day off?" Agnes thought to herself.

"Until she recovers" Stella added.

"Until she recovers?" The rest stared confused at her. Her reaction didn't seem funny to them but she was actually a fast thinker. "That's it!" She shouted.

"Agnes are you okay?" Stella touched her shoulder.

"Stella" She pushed her hand away and turned to hold her. "I've got it!" She screamed.

"Got what?" Stella glared at her curiously but instead she pushed her out of the way and ran out.

"Hope she's not going crazy" Bella turned to Stella.

"I hope so" Stella replied as she stared at the entrance where Agnes ran past.

Secretary Dan knocked on Magus's door before going in.

"Who's it?" He asked.

"Detective Lil Walker Agnes" He told him.

"Let her in" He replied.

He turned to go get Agnes.

"If it's not Lil Walker who'd it be?" He smiled at her. "You never seize to disturb my morning" He said as she walked in her head bowed to the ground, she looked like one who has lost all her strength. He stood up and walked to her not noticing her look. "You do know I've got a wife, coming to me this is tempting as you look more beautiful in the morning" He grinned devilishly.

"Sir I just..."

"Are you still angry?" He interrupted her as he looked closely at her. "I know I acted rudely yesterday, I'm sorry I just couldn't bear seeing you put yourself in an unsolvable trouble" He said.

She didn't want to answer him as it'd spoil her plans.

"You know how much I love you Agnes but you keep making me worried" He took a step forward.

"Ah" She groaned.

"Are you okay love?" He asked worriedly.

"Sir I think I'll need a week or two off" She requested.

"Are you okay?" He asked again.

"I'm not feeling... Ah" She groaned as if in so much pain but the surprising thing was how he immediately hugged her. "Ah" she gasped feeling uncomfortable. She tried to push him away.

"Are you okay? What's the sickness?" He acted worried.

"It's not too serious, I'll just need a week or two to recover" She replied.

"Take your time honey but know that I'll miss you so much" He smiled at her. "I'll come check on you from time to time" He said.

"No no no!" She shouted.

"What?" He looked muddled.

"I don't want to be a distraction to the work, there's going to be a lot of work to be done here mostly as I won't be around, removing the slightest of your time won't be good" She pretended to care.

"This' why I love you" He grinned in a sly manner. "How can you be so concerned about the company"

"Sir?" She called.

"Yes?"

"Can I have today too? My head aches" She requested.

"Sure" He smiled at her.

"Thanks sir" She bowed her head to the ground as she left.

"Stella! Stella! Stella!!" She jumped up as she ran to hug her assistant.

"Hey what's wrong with you?!" Stella shouted after her but she cut her short as she jumped on Stella. "Get off!" Stella pushed her away.

"So sorry, so sorry"

"What's wrong with you?" She asked again.

"Guess what?" She asked happily.

"Well you know I'm very bad at guessing so I won't bother" Stella replied.

"Come on Stella don't ruin it for me!" She whined.

"Fine fine, you got promoted?" She guessed.

"No!"

"See I can't guess, just get it over with" She complained.

"Agh" She sighed."Fine I'll give you a hint" Stella nodded. "About the love rose house case" She said.

"Uh you've been given the case?" She gasped.

"Not exactly"

" 'Cause if so it's a bad news " she remarked.

"Seriously?"

"Yeah" She rolled her eyes.

"Whatever, I'll still give you the gist" Agnes took her arm as they strolled down the hall and discuss how she deceived Magus.

"Well you're lucky boss has something for you if not he wouldn't care about your sickness to give you as long as you like to resume" Stella said as they entered their office. "I'm not even sure if boss is even as kind as he is to you to his wife, I pity the woman and envy you"

"Stop it now you're making me feel bad"

"You should" Stella walked away.
