The thumping of Jenny's heart drowned out the sound of the wind that carried cherry blossoms through the air. She checked her watch. 20 minutes. He was 20 minutes late. She had watched him read her love letter. Maybe he got caught up with something. As the time ticked to 30 minutes late she felt something catch in her throat. Attempting to clear her throat she felt something catch further. She tried to gasp but felt whatever it was blocking the air. She doubled over, coughing. She choked, trying to desperately to clear her throat. As the pressure built she finally got some of it out. A perfect flower. Sitting daintily on the ground. Before she could even ponder this she felt more swell inside her throat. She grasped as her throat, gasping for air as the flowers grew inside of her. Their roots strangled her lungs as the petals blocked her windpipe. She tried to shout, to scream, to do anything but her voice was stolen away with her breath. As the world began to fade away she reached out, praying that he would come for her. He never did.
