Darcy woke up on her birthday with a bright smile, hoping her parents would set aside their arguing for just one day. It's not like her parent's marriage was an unhealthy one, nothing like that at all but sometimes words would be thrown and the couple would argue for days on end, and for the past few days they have been.
Darcy wanted a good birthday, one where her parents weren't at each other's throats, a birthday cake with Robert Pattinson's face on it, and the number sixteen standing on top of the cake proudly. She also knew her parents would do that, but she wanted her parents to stop arguing altogether, to act like a happy family but knowing her father's stubbornness and her mother's way of trying to get her point across; that wasn't going to happen anytime soon.
so, dressed in her yellow floral print pajamas, she rushed down the stairs. her footsteps echoed off the wooden steps before she finally made her way into kitchen where she saw her mother struggling to make a batch of pancakes. Her mother Lori was not the best cook, but Darcy ate her mother's cooking with a smile on her face anyway.
