You chuckled at the surprised question of your leader and co-rapper Cathleen, who seemed rather impressed at your bold choice.

"I knew that my final piece had to be the cherry on the cake, so I went for something complex. There was too much at stake for me after all."

Pushing a newly teal-coloured strand from your face, you let your right hand gently trace over the keys of the piano you had used for practice today.

Cat had joined you earlier so the two of you could work on your rap-lines together, but now she looked all bent on having you prove your skill to her.

Her brown eyes glinted with joy, when she caught your gaze.

"Could I persuade you to-", she started, only to give a nod towards the keys.

"I can try. It might suck though.", you warned, before sitting down properly, playing a few scales to warm up your fingers.

The snorted "As if." from your friend you ignored.

Jay-Zs version of the song was more difficult than Alicias, considering the fact that you would be switching between rapping and singing all the time, while also focussing on playing the right notes.

After you had prepped yourself, you started to play the refrain as a small intro, closing your eyes as you did, before starting to sing it.

You voices luscious volume filled the room, a trait your fans adored all over the world, loving what a versatile performer you were. Cat watched you proudly when she watched you diving right into the song. Like she had already expected, you still got it. Just for the briefest moment she caught a shiver running through your body, noticeable in the slight biting oy your lower lip, before you started rapping the second part of Jay-Zs lines.

The sound of the pratice rooms door opening made you stop in your tracks. You looked up and your lips curled into a smile, when you saw a familiar mint-coloured head peeking into your practice room. Cathleen had noticed the new arrival as well and she couldn't help but grin, when she recognized your boyfriend Min Yoongi.

"Looks I better make room for you lovebirds.", she teased into your direction, despite knowing how good you were in ignoring statements like this one.

Instead of replying to her, you decided to start playing the chords from before again, yet you didn't sing along this time. This earned you a sigh and a loving punch to your arm from your friend, who then waved at Yoongi as she passed him and left the room to give the two of you some time alone. The mint-haired rapper nodded at her politely, telling her that his co-member and her boyfriend Kim Namjoon was looking for her. From beneath your eyelashes you watched Cathleens face light up at this information and you couldn't help but smile at her adorable reaction. She and Namjoon were childhood sweethearts and you found their story absolutely cute despite all the emotional chaos between its lines.
