Feeling sunlight hit my eyes, I squeezed my eyes shut. I brought my palms to my face and opened my eyes again, only to be blinded by the brightness.
I grin as I bring the duvet up to my body. It's the best day since my younger sister Leena is finally getting married to her desired man. I've wanted to find love ever since I was a tiny kid, but my nasty grandfather married me off, just like in a love story.
But here's the twist: in every romance tale, the hero is a wonderful guy or falls head over heels for the heroine. In my story, however, the hero is my arrogant husband, who treats me like a plague he wants to escape. Remember to think positively today, Nandini, I tell myself.
My sister completed her studies before beginning her employment as a fresher, where she met and fell in love with her boss, Veer Raizade. When she informed me, I was thrilled because it made my romantic side happy to see my younger sister finding love. I'm going to have the happiest day ever today. As I look around this house, I get a lot of bad vibes. Everyone knows Nandini is the most outgoing girl when I'm not home.
My Mother says I'm a talker and love to make others smile, but I must keep my mouth shut among these Rathore's. Initially, I became so bored due to the lack of conversation in this house that I began talking to myself. You can only imagine how desperate I was, but jokes aside, these folks genuinely come from a different universe.
I rose from my bed and headed for the bathroom. I pushed open the bathroom door after turning the handle. I walked over to my shower and opened the door. I turned on the hot water while leaning over and then stepped back.
I stripped off my clothing and threw them in my hamper for dirty clothes. I examined the stretch marks on my tummy in the washbasin mirror and realized they didn't make me appear particularly ugly. I have curves, but they look beautiful on me. If I'm being honest, I'm reasonably attractive. I giggle as I wink at myself in the mirror and enter the shower.
The hot water gushed down my body as I entered the shower, making me feel amazing. I felt clean after giving myself a few baths. I used the body wash with a lavender scent, and I loved it.
I rinsed my body and shut off the water. I grabbed my dry towel after opening the shower door. I got out of the shower and wrapped the towel around my body.
I looked in the mirror after exiting the bathroom. I was wearing a white fluffy towel, and the weather was incredibly romantic. I then grabbed my phone and started playing the tune Mere Khwabon Mein from my favorite film, DDLJ. The only problem is that Simran is married and may never find her Raj in real life.
The Raj that God has given me is more akin to a Dracula from a horror film. I doubt I would ever see him smile, let alone be romantic.
I stood on the bed, turned up the music, and started jumping and dancing like there was no tomorrow. It felt so amazing to be myself. I took the towel off my head and sensually twisted my hair. When I was finished, I grinned and turned around to see Rudra leaning against the door, cross-legged, staring at me.
I yelled, "Fuck!"
I tried to moisten my parched mouth with my nonexistent saliva when He suddenly stepped in front of me, towering above me. Damn!!! I thought the heat from his body would completely melt me like candle wax. He's an intimidating man.
"Why is there so much loud music playing?" He said in a low, husky voice, "I was working." I swallowed.
I avoided his eyes and replied, "Nope, I'm sorry, but I didn't realize the music was so loud."
He asked, "Are you trying to get my attention?"
I don't see why I want his attention when he considers me a burden.
