There are only so many things that are important to star running back, Gonzalo Freecss; daily workouts, balanced meals, screwing around in school, and fucking around at parties. None of these things, however, have academics on their list.

Naturally, socialization was number one on Gon's bucket list. He was in college, for chrissake, and as MVP of Yorknew's starting lineup, he didn't feel as if he should be focusing on such exhausting things like academics. Besides, he had his own idea of fun anyway, and by god, it was insane the way he had just about everyone wrapped around his finger.

Gon liked to have sex—no shame in that—but he didn't quite like the attachment that came with. The idea of monogamy and being restrained to only being with one person was uninteresting; and before you tell him not to knock it before he's tried it, he's tried it alright.

Aside from how unconventional one may find his lifestyle, it came with a set of strict rules he's never once broken. Aside from the obvious of not sleeping with people his friends are romantically interested in, and not sleeping with anyone already in a relationship, Gon had two additional rules: never sleep with the same person thrice, and to never entertain the idea of love on either side of a situationship. So, cruising through college how he saw fit, life was as simple as can possibly be; or was, anyway.

"What do you mean, 'I'll be benched?'" Gon stared helplessly and exasperatedly at his coach. He sat on the bench in the changing rooms, the rest of the team gathering around to eavesdrop. "Coach, are you kidding me right now?"

"Do I look like I'm making a joke?" His coach glared. "I'm disappointed in your academic behavior Gon. I can't have the ace of our team be a horrible role model for the freshman."

"Who are you gonna have on the field then, huh? Spitzky?" Gon raised his voice, growing increasingly angry. "All due respect, sir, but I've never seen a running back shittier than him!"

"Watch your mouth, Freecss." The coach demanded. Daniel Spitzky sulked from behind the lockers.

Gon hesitated and sat back down dejectedly. He looked a mix of angry, confused, and defeated. The onlooking eyes of everyone on the team didn't help his case, and he only felt embarrassed. He furrowed his eyebrows and stared at the floor to prevent from saying anything else that would get him suspended for the rest of the season.

"Now, relax, will you? I said you will be benched if you don't get your grades up. You're passing everything except for math and English, so get that fixed by the end of the semester, or you'll damn the team with Spitzky."

Gon looked up hopefully, eyes glistening like an excited puppy. "Yes, sir, I will!"

"Now, I believe you, Gon, but in order to ensure that, I talked with your teachers to get you hooked up with a student tutor."

"What?" Gon sulked, feeling extra disappointed and embarrassed. He dropped his arms at his side and frowned animatedly. "Why do I need a tutor?"

"Your teachers and I just think you need a little...extra help." His coach patted his shoulder awkwardly to try and soften the blow. "Anyway, one of your upperclassmen who had both your English and science classes volunteered to tutor you."

"Goddammit." Gon muttered frustratedly, crossing his arms like a child. "Well, who volunteered to tutor me? Was it Kendra? Ezra? Vivica?"

"Said something about a Zoldyck; can't recall the last name though. I wanna say...Key Lime..? Chris..? You know 'im?"

"Are you fucking kidding me?! You got me paired with that freak?" Gon exclaimed. "The freak with the headphones?!"

"Language!"

"Great, so not only am I being subjected to literal torture, but I have to spend time with that fucking weirdo. This is fucking fantastic, yeah? This is great."

"I swear to shit, Gon, if you cuss one more fuckin' time."

"Great. Thanks, Coach. I'll fix my grades by the end of the semester."

"Get to it." The coach clicked his tongue and clapped him on the back before departing the locker room.

Gon was bombarded by the rest of the team rushing to his side, most of which wore smug grins. He immediately went from looking dejected to looking utterly vexed.

"Fuckin' Zoldyck? Man, my condolences. I hope you make it through the week." Adonis cringed, placing his hand on Gon's damp hair.

"How the fuck are you failing English? You speak the language, don't you?" Zushi raised an eyebrow.

"Ha, Gon needs a tutor." Daniel snickered.

"Shut it, Spitzky, you'll never be put on the field." Gon snapped with a deadly glare. Spitzky sulked with a whine and dejectedly walked toward the back exit of the changing room.

"Talk to your teachers for an alternative decision." Adonis offered. "That's what I'd do. Zoldyck's seriously weird. What if he tries to bone you?"

"Ew, what the fuck?" Gon looked up disgustedly. "I think I'd seriously kill myself before I ever had sex with somebody as weird as him."

The rest of the guys on the team exchanged smug glances in the silence of the locker room. It was as if they were all thinking the exact same thing at the exact same time. They began to grin mischievously, and Gon, sensing the connivery coming about began to make a face. He threw his arms up in surrender and begged the guys not to give voice to their thoughts.

"Ten bucks if you get into Zoldyck's pants by the end of the semester." Zushi grinned smugly.

"Fuck no." Gon declined in shock. He folded his arms.

"Twenty bucks if you do it by the end of the month." Uvogin added convincingly.

"Are you insane? I'm not fucking Killua Zoldyck!"

"Twenty bucks and...I'll throw in my old copy of Greed Island, if you fuck Killua by the end of next month." Leorio smirked complacently, leaning back against the lockers in a sort of self-accomplishment. He knew his deal was too sweet to pass up, and he was only waiting on Gon's inevitable compliance.

Gon twisted his lips in contemplation and stared irritatedly at his teammate and friend. He sniffed and knitted his brows together in slight frustration with himself. Eventually, though, he gave in and looked up at Leorio.

"Twenty bucks, your copy of Greed Island, and your signed copy of the Chimera Ant comic, volume six."

"...Fine, deal." He grinned reluctantly. "Can't wait to see how this one plays out."
