"Damn, I forgot my headphones..." Nathan mumbled to himself. He glanced over to the side. "Hey, new guy, can I borrow your headphones for the period?"
"I'm not new - Nevermind... But no. I'm using them." Dean replied.
"Shit, alright..." He sighed and suddenly looked over again. "Oh, hey, is that Hawaii Part 2?"
"Huh? Oh, yeah, it is. You listen to it, too?" Dean asked.
"Of course, I do." He snatched Dean's headphones off his head and placed them on his own.
"Hey!"
"Dean, Nathaniel, do we have a problem?" Asked Mrs. Rich.
"No, ma'am..." Dean and Nathan said in unison.
"Then stop disrupting my class." She said as she resumed grading the students' papers on her computer.
Silence.
Awkward silence.
Throughout the entire classroom.
Dean sulked as he did his work with no music to listen to, while Nathan cheerfully entered his own world. He also had the nerve to take Dean's phone and higher the volume. He didn't do anything about it, though, besides pouting to himself. After 10 minutes of the deafening silence, Nathan stood up and turned his paper into Mrs. Rich.
What an asshole... Dean thought to himself. Nathan sat back down when the bell rang. Everyone stood up to pack their things when Dean felt something flying at him. He caught it rather quickly, looking at it to see his headphones.
"Like I said, I only needed them for the period." Nathan turned away to leave for 6th period.
