adeline pov HIGH SCHOOL CLASSROOM
adeline walks in the classroom nervously she looks around, searching for a familiar face, when she spots a blonde mischievous girl with a twinkle in her eye, setting up something under the teacher's desk before she heads back to in the corner of the room with a smirk rested on her face
"excuse me hi my name is adeline, Is this seat taken?" adeline asked whispering
"nope, not taken welcome to the class adeline I'm esmeralda and let me be the first to say today is going to be an unforgettable day" esmeralda said smirking making adeline hesitates to sit but decides to take the empty seat next to esmeralda, unpacking her stuff she tries to focus, but her curiosity gets the better of her.
"what exactly were you doing under the teachers desk?" adeline said whispering
"just a little prank l've rigged a whoopee cushion on the teacher's chair It's going to be hilarious when he sits down" esmeralda said grinning mischievously adeline's eyes widen in disbelief, torn between amusement and concern
"but won't you get in trouble if we get caught?" adeline said looking around the room, they were the only ones there
"oh adeline you worry too much trust me it'll be worth it besides it's your first day, and what's a high school experience without a little mischief?" esmeralda said nudging her shoulder laughing
just as esmeralda finishes her sentence the teacher mr. anderson, enters the classroom, unaware of the impending prank he walks towards his desk, ready to begin the class.
"esmeralda he's coming! you need to stop this!" adeline said panicking esmeralda tries to quickly retrieve the whoopee cushion but accidentally knocks over a stack of books, catching mr. anderson's attention
"what's going on here? esmeralda, adeline care to explain?" mr. anderson said raising his eyebrows esmeralda and adeline exchange nervous glances, realizing they have been caught in the act.
"It was my fault mr. anderson I'm sorry" adeline said softly glancing down
"no it's not just her fault mr. anderson I convinced her to go along with it we thought it would be a harmless prank" esmeralda said jumping in, mr. anderson although stern looks at the two girls with a hint of understanding
"pranks are not the way to start your first day adeline and esmeralda your reputation precedes you I expect better judgment from both of you" mr. anderson said signing running his hand though his hair
"consider this a warning pranks disrupt the learning environment now let's start the class shall we?" mr. anderson said firmly as the class resumes adeline and esmeralda exchange a remorsetul yet relieved look, realizing the consequences they narrowly avoided it's a lesson they won't soon forget
esmeralda and adeline were two young girls sent to an academy for misbehaving children, where they instantly clicked and became wonderful friends after a prank went horribly wrong. over the years, the two formed a sister-like, and it was clear they would do anything for each other. senior year, esmeralda was getting ready to come home and offered for adeline to come with her knowing her situation.
after an interesting conversation with her brother, roman, she discussed how this would be a great opportunity for adeline to keep an eye on billy after he sent him a video involving maureen prescott. adeline was nervous, but more than grateful to go home with esmeralda, and because she knew more than adeline, the girl told esmerelda about the plan involving billy. everything was going smoothly until esmerelda found out her brother stu was also involved
