"Stupefy!"
"Protego!"
The protective spell went up like a shield around her, causing Blaise's to harmlessly bounce off.
"Expelliarmus!" she shot back, darting forward as she cast the spell.
Blaise cast his own protective spell, and he raised a brow at her. "That spell only works if you're Harry," he chuckled.
Alina rolled her eyes, deflecting another one that he cast. She saw the competitive glint in her eye, and they started parrying, using stronger spells until-
"That's enough," Flitwick announced to the class.
The pairs stopped dueling, turning to look at the professor in the middle of the room. He made sure they had all stopped before he continued.
"Good work today. Make sure to practice the spells we learned. If you don't, I might give you all an actual test on them."
The class groaned, and he dismissed them with a wave and a smile. "Have a nice day."
Alina and Blaise headed out of the class together, chatting as they went.
"Did you hear? Pansy is actually going to ask that Ravenclaw out!"
"No way. I assumed it was just another fling," Blaise replied with a raised brow.
Alina shrugged, inclining her head. "I think she's serious, this time."
"You know, you can't be talking about our friend's relationships when you don't share anything yourself," he added with a pointed look. "I mean, you can't tell me you didn't meet anyone at that party."
Theo, smoking on the couch-
"Nope." Her reply was for her own thoughts as much as it was for him. "Nobody," she repeated. "And you can't be talking about my relationships when you have someone you're pursuing."
At that, he titled his head, remarking, "do tell."
"Luna, of course! I've seen you hanging out with her more this year."
He only chuckled, shrugging. "Maybe I have."
When she cast him a pointed look, pressing for more information, he only shrugged.
"I'll see you at practice, Alina."

Practice was hell.
Several of the Gryffindors had been waiting in the stands the entire time they had practiced, calling out remarks about their families or issues. Even about her mom.
