This concept is five years old.
My best friend at the time and I started writing this when we were very young. We wrote five full books and started a sixth, each book spanning about a hundred pages (much less if it wasn't for double-spacing and 14-point font). It was a good concept.
Unfortunately, the books are very cringe. There, I said it.
I've been planning to rewrite the books for about a year. Yes, me. My friend and I have long since gone off to do our own things, but recently I texted her for the first time in a year. I told her about my idea and she loved it. So this is it. I'm finally rewriting it.
The original title of the series was "Disney Villains Revenge", or "DVR" as we called it. I wanted to keep the "DVR" aspect, but have also decided to change the "R" to "Rewritten" for obvious reasons.
I'm incredibly excited to dive deeper into this storyline, fix all of the kinks and issues (for example, when we'd initially written this, we had no idea what the LGBTQ community was yet had unintentionally written a TON of queer-coded characters and an obvious aroace), and convey emotions that were originally there but not addressed. In other words, me from five years ago didn't understand trauma all that well. Now, I do.
Anyways, here it is. I'm so excited to be able to present to you all book one of Disney Villains Rewritten.
