(Luke didn't find Tim, he is still on the train)

unedited

The train rattled and shook, waking Luke up from a short, but deep sleep. His muscles ached from being curled up, and the boxes of machinery prevented him from stretching his legs. The ride seemed endless, his stomach craved food and his throat ached from a lack of water. He wasn't sure how much longer he could last on the train.

At the Institute:

Mrs. Sigsby paced around the zero phone. Stackhouse was in the room with her, glancing nervously around.

"Let's give it a little bit more time, our guys are searching the train stations right now." He said cautiously, hoping that she would agree and leave the phone alone.

"We can't give up any more time." Mrs. Sigsby said harshly, "That boy could be hundreds of miles farther every hour we wait."

Another phone rang, it wasn't the zero phone, but instead the one on Mrs. Sigsby's desk.

"Hello, Julia speaking." She said. Stackhouse watched as her expression lightened. It was no longer a stern kind of glare, but rather her usual stiff, but polite expression. "Why, that's wonderful! I'm sure he'll give you some trouble, but you can handle it."

"Trevor!" She called. "They found Luke on a train car! They're bringing him back as we speak." She seemed to be smiling but with that woman, it was hard to tell.

On the train

Luke was once again awoken as the train jolted to a stop. He had become used to the train's ratting, stopping, and starting. This seemed to be different. That familiar hum and screech signaling movement had ceased.

Something was different.

He jumped a bit as the doors rolled open, sunlight encased the interior of the train car, and Luke scooted back against the corner.

"Check every inch of this car, nothing should be left untouched."

Shit

Luke recognized Zeke's voice from a mile away. The chilling memories of the tank came crashing down on him, and he felt his heart speeding up. His chest seemed to be making thumping noises loud enough to be heard if you were near him. He tried to take deep breaths but worried he would be heard. Footsteps flooded the car and Luke knew it was over once the lawnmower boxes he was hiding behind were moved.

He was caught

The familiar black shiny shoes the doctors and caretakers wore were what he saw first. Then, the zap sticks hanging on their belts.

"I'll come with you, please just don't hurt me," Luke begged them.

"Sorry sport, but we can't trust you, you get that right? You're a smart kid." Zeke said.

Zeke pulled out the aerosol can that brought up vague memories Luke had. It seemed familiar, he just couldn't quite remember why.

"Just close your eyes and try to relax Luke." Before Luke could hear the rest of what Zeke was saying, he was slumped over the man's shoes, unconscious.

Zeke pulled out zip ties from his pockets and secured Luke's wrists and ankles. He pulled the tie tightly, knowing it would cut off Luke's circulation and leave red marks for the days to come. He then pushed the boy onto his back and picked him up. Zeke had Luke over his shoulder, his arms were around the back of Luke's knees. Luke's limp arms and head swung as Zeke walked, but Zeke had no trouble carrying him.

"Luke, you can't even begin to imagine the hell waiting for you back home," Zeke whispered into the unconscious boy's neck.
