{previously: I followed her up, tensing as I felt a hand on my shoulder. I peered over it to see no-one there. Then, the pressure released. I convinced myself it was my imagination, shaking my head. I continued to follow my sister, as she entered the next room. This room was different, It had a light green color covering the walls. The floor was the same, wood. The room was a supposed kitchen. The walls were littered with herbs, and cooking utensils. }
I scanned the room, looking at all the shelves with items scattered on them. The corners of the room had cobwebs, and spiders littered the room. I watched as Emera opened the cabinets, and drawers looking in them. She pulled out a giant book, from the cabinet.
...
There were more books stashed in there, but she pulled only this one out. I watched as her expression turned from interest, to horror. I gulped, and opened my mouth to speak, but I was cut off by her opening it up again, and putting it back. I lifted my eyebrow, as she closed it and turned to me. "You don't want to know." She muttered, a shocked expression still painted on her face.
...
I slowly nodded, as I watched her leave the room. I smirked, and grabbed the book reading the cover. My eyes widened in shock, as I read. "Human-Recipes." I mumbled, reading. I placed the book down, not wanting to open it. "AHHHH!" I heard a blood-curdling scream from the hallway. I raced to the hallway, frantingly looking for my sister, until I looked at the stairs.
...
I saw Emra, her right leg stuck in a hole she had made. I chuckled, as I watched her struggle. She looked like she was scared to death. "Hold on, I'll help you." I said, walking up to here. She was turned so that I couldn't see her face, so when I saw the terrified expression on her face I was confused. I grabbed her arm, and pulled. It didn't budge, and my sister had tears pouring down her face. I pulled harder, it still didn't budge.
...
I grunted, as I said "Damn sis, you really got stuck didn't you?" I said, still trying to pull her up. "d-don t let go!" She said, her eyes were widened and fear filled them. "S-she's got me!" She yelled, trying to pull herself up.
...
Using my arm, she pulled herself up, and I stood there wide eyed, "W-what?" I asked, confused. The blood in my face drained, as I processed what she had said. A wave of confusion, and fear engulfed me.
...
I didn't have much time to speak, before Emra grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the house. I followed her, not able to process what she'd said. Eventually, we made it back to our home. It was sunset, and we barged in, not caring that we hadn't knocked. "Mama!" Emra screamed, running to the woman that was cooking in the kitchen.
...
"Oh!" She let out, startled that her youngest daughter hugged her so suddenly. "Why, hello dear! You're just in time for dinner!" The woman said, lifting the spoon out of the pot that was on the stove. Emra shoved her pale face into her mothers white gown, crying. "Dear? Why are you crying? Is something wrong?" She asked her, bending down to her level. "T-there was a s-scary monster! A-and, it dragged me down the stairs!" She cried, her tears falling harder as she spoke.
...
"Oh, Dear that terrible!" She said, "m-me, and Lori went in t-this house in t-the woods.. And there were scary creatures i-in it!" She cried harder. My mother frowned, and turned her head to see me leaning up against the doorframe. She glared at me, and picked Emra up, cradling her in her arms. "Shhh, Lori! What did you do to your sister!" She yelled, glaring daggers into my flesh. I swallowed the lump in my throat, and exempted what would happen next.
