RING RING!
STUDENTS scurried into the hallways as the screeching sound of the bell echoed throughout the building. Kaia strolled the halls alongside two out of her six best friends, Che and Nova. The trio made an attempt to find the rest of their friend group, succeeding a few minutes later. Che dapped up Wesley and Amiri while Kaia and Nova went to hug their other friend, Kiyana.
Kaia turned to Wesley, "Have you seen Namil?" She asked him.
Those two were basically inseparable— literally partners in crime, thing one thing two type of thing— "Nah, I haven't. I just texted him though, like not too long ago." Wesley told her.
She nodded and scanned the hallway looking for her boyfriend. Soon, she spotted him walking with with his head down, looking at his phone. She smiled and ran up to him, hugging him tightly.
"Hiii, MilMil!" She greeted him cheerfully as she took in his scent.
He looked down at her and cracked a fake smile and gave her a dry, "Wassup." Kaia frowned at him failing to return the same enthusiasm she had to see him. She let go of him and studied his face before speaking again.
"What's wrong? Is something bothering you?" She asked, confused as to why he was acting differently today.
"Nah, I'm chillin', Kaia." He told her before going to talk to the guys.
Kiyana and Nova walked up to her with confused expressions on their faces. Of course, Kiyana being the blunt and straightforward person she is, she said something. "Girl, what's all that about?" She asked referring to Namil's strange behavior.
"No clue, he said that he's 'Chillin' or some shit," Kaia said making quotations with her fingers as she repeated his words. "Let's just go, Ima' leave him alone." She told them, walking in the other direction.
They nodded and followed her towards the main exit. It wasn't too long until the boys began to follow them, and of course, Che and Wesley being the goofballs they are, had to start something. "Oh my gosh, here y'all go." Nova said, rolling her eyes.
Amiri laughed and Namil kept silent, just walking with the group. All of a sudden, Kiyana lets out a loud, exaggerated sigh, "It's hot as fuck out hereeee and I'm hungryyyy!" She said, putting her hand above her eyes to block out the sun.
"Nigga, stop whininggggg." Wesley said, mocking the way she dragged out her words while walking beside her.
