"I have the honor to present you... the Crown Prince Alexander!"

I took a deep breath. I put on a smile and walked into the grand hall. I was wearing a white royal suit, matching my white hair and clear blue eyes. Everyone I have ever met always commented on how my eyes were striking, beautiful. I was getting kind of bored of it.

I took in the sight before my eyes. The grand hall was adorned to the brim in gold and white, as always. There were many nobles around me, every single one with clothing more extravagant than the other, from all over the Empire.

Azoria is the largest Empire in the world, and the oldest. It is beautiful, with astonishing buildings, beautiful flora and fauna, lots of mines filled with rare precious stones and the best weather possible for agriculture.

Sadly, my father, Emperor Joseph, was a tyrant. He took most of the people's money and exchanged it for useless things. He treated everyone poorly and didn't care about anyone other than him. He never actually loved my mother, while she did love him. He only married her because of how submissive and obedient she was with him. She was always smiling and never dared to question him in any way possible.

Thankfully, he caught an untreatable disease and died a few months ago. Everyone in the Empire cheered nonstop. All except my mother, Empress Averill, of course. She was the only one who cried when he died and during his funeral.

Good riddance. Many people even went as far to spiting on his grave. My mother was too depressed to even notice. I did, but I didn't do anything about it. To be honest, I laughed at it, but only when no one was around.

I continued making my way down the hall, in the direction of the throne where my mother was, smiling sweetly as always.

I truly love my mother. She was always sweet to me, kind to me, and treated me like a son should be treated by their mother: with love and compassion. I always saw in her the potential to be a great Empress if she wasn't as submissive.

Well, I'm gonna make sure my wife isn't as submissive. I love women who speak their mind and don't let others push them down. The problem is that, when you are the crown prince, everyone is afraid to raise their voice at you. Especially since my father was known to torture anyone who even dared to think about raising their voice at him.

Well, I want to change that. I hope I can. The problem is...

I have no fucking idea of how to do it.

But can you blame me? I mean, I believe it is rather obvious I didn't exactly have the best education. I was lucky enough to understand that what my father did was wrong and to not end up like him. That's something, right?

Anyway, where was I?

Ah, yes.

I finally reached to my mother. She rose from the throne and enveloped me in a hug. She was wearing a golden dress that flowed to her feet and with a back that almost worked as a cape. She looked like the Empress she deserved to be.

"My beautiful Alexander.", she praised. "Look at you. With my white hair and blue eyes... and amazing looks of your father."

I slightly cringed. I hate it when people compare me to my father. Especially my mother. Gods, I already want to get out of here.

"Thank you, mother.", I lied. "Explain to me again why we are having this ball?"

"Oh, so you can meet your future wife, of course!", my mother said excitedly in a whisper.

"Mother, I am not 21 yet. Besides, why should I worry about a wife if I do not need one to become Emperor?", I countered.

"Sweetie, you need a wife so you can have an heir. What if something happens to you because of that Evil Sorceress?"

Ah, I forgot about that.

A few days after my father's funeral, an Evil Sorceress appeared and began causing mayhem. Of course, every time she destroyed something, I ended up sending architects to remodel and rebuild those builds so they could look even better than before. Every time she stole something, I would catch her and end up giving what she stole to the poor. And whenever she came out of her shadows to cast spells on people, I would have the royal mage take care of the people. Surprisingly, we found a disease among our townsfolk and quickly took care of it. It must be a coincidence...

"Calm down, mother. I'm sure the Sorceress wouldn't do such a thing.", I told her.

As if right on cue, a dark smoke, almost like the night sky, invaded the grand hall. The guards quickly drew their swords, most of them trying to protect me and my mother.

I heard the sound of high heels clacking against the marble floor. It echoed through the whole hall, getting people even more frightened.

A guard rapidly gave me my sword and I prepared to face her.

The doors swung open, revealing the Sorceress in all her glory.

She had her normal combat clothing on: a tight shirt, defining well her bust and waist, high-waisted tight pants, showing her curves, with holsters for her weapons on each thigh, and knee high high heeled boots. She had a magic mask over her face, changing the color of her eyes to pure white, with her charcoal black hair up in a bun.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Did I interrupt the party?", she teased in her silky-smooth voice, smirking.

"What do you want, Sorceress?", I asked in a loud voice.

"Well, if it isn't his Royal Highness, prince Alexander. How's your dad?", she teased.

I lowly growled. She always knew how to get under my skin.

"Very fine, actually. You know, burning in Hell and all.", I countered.

"Alexander!", my mother shouted at me. She still defended him, even after his glorious death.

I ignored her. My eyes were only on her. The Sorceress. Her hands were crossed over her chest, and she looked high and mighty.

She quickly snapped her fingers and the world around me seemed to melt away. I felt myself getting sick at the sight.

Suddenly, we were in some kind of fighting ring. She drew out her sword and pointed it at me.

"Care for a dance, pretty boy?"

I smirked. I haven't been dueled in a while. It might actually be fun.

"Alright. But no tricks. No magic, only swords. Deal?", I asked, pointing my sword at her.

"You know you are technically making a deal with the devil, right?", she teased.

"I believe it is the other way around, Sorceress."

She darkly chuckled. "You? The Devil? You are too much of a goody goody two shoes to be even compared to a demon."

"You still didn't answer my question.", I said.

"Alright.", she shrugged. "Deal."
