Morning comes and Cayda is the first to wake up, she stretches and yawns, turning to see her sister and Andrea snoring quietly. She gets up off her bed and walks out of the bedroom, shutting the door quietly. She lays on the couch, and turns on the TV to a quiet volume.
"What's on this morning?" Cayda sleepily asks herself.
She watches the morning news to the best of her ability, trying not to fall asleep at this hour is incredibly difficult. She listens as the reporter lists off the weather patterns for the weeks, mostly sunny and bright out for half of the coming week, with some rain and clouds coming after. As the topics turn from the weather to more localized events, partly discussing the new building that opened, Cayda drifts back to sleep.
She's jolted awake by the sudden change of pitch in the reporter's voice. Cayda opens her eyes to the headline on the screen, calling for the evacuation of residents. Cayda considers waking up the others, but it's not new information to them. She thinks back to their discussions last night, they all know Andrea needs to be leaving, and she will. In two days. Cayda looks at the TV, her eyes still glazed over with sleep, waiting for a more interesting topic. But with no such luck, she turns it off.
"Mmm, good morning Cate," Andrea says quietly as she turns onto her side, seeing Cate sitting up in her bed. "Where's Cayda?"
"She's out on the couch, passed out. Did you sleep well?" Cate responds.
"Yeah, thanks for letting me sleep here" Andrea answers before yawning. "So...what do you have planned for today?"
"Coffee, and breakfast" Cate answers. "I'll probably go out and get something, want to come with me?"
"Yeah, sure, let me get cleaned up first" Andrea replies.
Andrea leaves for the bathroom, and Cate gets herself dressed to go out. Once they're both ready, they quietly pass by Cayda and leave. Andrea follows at Cate's side, and follows her into a coffee shop. They both get some coffee, and Cate also buys one for her sister. Cate hands the small tray, or holder for the drinks, to Andrea, and she buys some food for them all.
"I could have paid for my own Cate, you didn't have to buy it for me" Andrea says as they enter, she shuts and locks the door behind them.
"I don't mind paying, it's not a problem. Besides, we use a different currency here than what you're used to in your world" Cate replies.
"Well, the agency did give my family what we needed to live here. Food, water, all the necessities were supplied" Andrea tells her.
"But no money? It's fine, things are cheaper here anyways, so it doesn't matter much anyway" Cate says. She looks over to notice Cayda stirring in her sleep. "You think she can smell the coffee?"
"Probably, or she's a light sleeper" Andrea suggests.
"Her? A light sleeper? No chance. She's a night owl, and in the mornings she's as stiff as a log" Cate says with a light laugh. She brings Cayda's coffee over to place it on the table nearby.
Cayda soon wakes up and starts drinking her coffee, she gives Cate and Andrea a small, quiet "thank you". After she's fully awake, and they've all eaten, Cayda speaks up to ask what they can do today. "Is there anything specific you want to do? I told you I had an idea where we could take some more pictures, we can do that later for the evening."
"What did you have in mind exactly?" Andrea asks.
"Well, we were looking at old pictures of ours to print and hang on our walls. I thought we could take some more, specifically at a beach like that one. Don't worry, we don't embarrass anyone this time" Cayda assures her. "But that can be done after dinner, so what do you want to do until then? We've got many hours to kill!"
