Morten was just putting out the candles In the sitting area to attempt a bit more sleep when the door opened,
violently and quick.Actually, it wasn't violent,
it was simply Agnus moving quickly which meant he had to swing the door stupidly wide to let his mass in and close it again. He held it just before it slammed though and carefully closed it the last bit.
Morten blinked in disbelief and said it before he could stop himself,
"Oh finally, I thought you'd never answer my longing stares.."Agnus stopped his approach at that,
"What?" he crusted his eyebrows into a confused frown that he released a split second later.
"Oh. Think we're being funny?"Morten shrugged,
"Who knows, might have been here to do some romance."
Morten suddenly remembered plains weren't exactly straight orientated as a general rule.
Thinking of this, he was pretty sure there had been some questionable stares between Agnus and Kur...
He was certainly on a slippery slope of butt hurt there."Soooo.." Morten scooted over the moment,
"one of the five has been visiting you in person?"Agnus nodded,
Morten scanned around the room in concern.
"Doesn't she get in trouble if they... know?""I assume you are implying the spies might hear us? Right now?" Agnus suggested.
Morten nodded, deciding shutting his mouth may be better.
"Well," said Agnus, sitting down in a chair that seemed never sat in before,
"you see they don't find me interesting after I shower, because I simply do nothing but sleep. Snoring maybe, but no talking in my sleep.. nothing."
He demonstrated sleeping by putting his hands together and putting the side of his face to them, closing his eyes.It was strange how even mimicking sleeping made him look a different man.
"You, however? Are apparently uninteresting a lot earlier. So no one watches you after dinner "Morten blinked in confusion, moved a few steps and sat down.
He thought for a moment, then shrugged.
"They're not wrong. I absolutely do nothing, unless I visit you for tea "Agnus nodded.
Morten protested at this, "But wait, if she was just in your room... they surely been watching her?"
Agnus shook his head, "The council was moving about, the guards available for us were limited, she is basically one of the five that never steps a foot out of line and we are not priority participants."
That was great, Morten thought, but surely the Five were priority? Surely someone knew?
"Will you court her?" Agnus asked before Morten could retort, apparently having an agenda.
"What? Stick girl?" Morten said,
regretting that rude way he had referred to her it a moment later.Agnus nodded.
Morten nodded back.
"It's not like I have other options," Morten said.
Agnus shrugged, "Pretty sure you could try to go for any other if you found them more attractive?"
Morten frowned, why?
Why was he now suggesting this? He squinted at Agnus.
"Why are you proposing this? " He asked.Agnus scratched his beard,
"Well, I think we can safely say Roran is out. They have too much crap on his name,
like beating up the blue and sending him home.
There's no way, simply. So you have choices."Morten hadn't thought about this,
he never understood why Roran wasn't disqualified at the start, when the abuse of Teddy's brother happened.
They could have still replaced him.
He wouldn't be stuck here picking girls.
He peddled back, picking girls?
