Your head snaps up as Aidan walks through the library doors. With a smile on his face he walks directly to the science fiction bookshelves. You smile a little, your heartbeat picking up. Aidan comes to the library every Saturday afternoon. He spends an hour there, just browsing the shelves for new books to read. You've developed a crush on him, but you're too embarrassed to talk to him. You glance over at the stack of books that needs to be put away in the aisle over the one which Aidan is browsing. You grin and pick them up. You silently walk to the shelf and start putting away the books. Through the slits of the shelf you see Aidan and your breathing quickens. You occasionally glance at him as he squints at the books titles, his body bent forward slightly. You almost drop a book and catch it before it can crash to the floor. Aidan's eyes briefly move over to you and he gives you a quick smile before looking back to the books. You stare at him, blinking, your heart pounding loudly in your ears. When Aidan feels your gaze on him his eyes look at yours. You quickly advert your eyes back to the shelves. Aidan surprises you and comes around the shelf. "I have a question." He states, standing next to you. You slowly look up at him and nod, caught speechless. "Do you have any new science fiction books that have just come in?" He asks. "I've read all of them that are on the other shelf." He adds, grinning. Your mouth moves but no words come out. "I-I-I, umm." You stammer. You glance over at the check out counter and then back to Aidan. "Let me go check." You breathe. You quickly move away from him, a blush on your cheeks. You quickly check through a new box of books. Five minutes later you head back to Aidan, empty handed. "I'm sorry, but there's no new science fiction books. But I'd advise you to check back next week." You say to him. "There's always the option of interlibrary loaning an item." You add. He smiles. "Great, thank you so much." He says. Your heart leaps and you return the smile. "You're-you're welcome." You say, before turning to walk back to the counter, a silly grin on your face.~
"No, no, you don't understand. I have to work till 4 on Saturday." You say to your boss. She looks at you quizzically. "Why?" She asks. "Because I always work until 4 on Saturdays." You state. "Y/N, you work till 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Go out and do something fun. You always work so hard here. So have some fun and don't worry about the those two extra hours of work." She says. You frown and sigh. "Okay." You mutter, before leaving her office. You bite your lip as you walk to your car. "I need to be at the library when Aidan is there." You murmur, sliding into your car. You rest your chin on the steering wheel, thinking. You pull up straight and grin. "I could I be so stupid?" You ask yourself. "I'll just be at the library when he comes." You say, turning your car on.~
You sit in a chair, pretending to read a book while glancing at Aidan as he browses through the new section of science fiction. He pulls a book off the shelf and sets it in his small pile. He glances at the pile and then the check out counter. Your eyes widen, knowing he's going to leave soon. He walks over to the check out counter and the librarian starts checking out his books. You stand and try to walk the door inconspicuously. You slowly walk to your car which is parked next to Aidan's car. As you grab your keys out of your purse, a man appears in front of you. You stop walking and stare at him. "Excuse me." You say, starting to manuever around him. He grabs your upper arm and holds you tightly. "Let go of me!" You gasp, trying to pull away from him. "Give me your purse." He growls. "No!" You exclaim. He turns you around and pull your back against his chest, his arm around your upper chest, holding you tightly. He reaches into his coat pocket and pulls a gun out. He holds the cold steel to your temple. "Give me your purse or I'll put a bullet hole in your head." He hisses. Your body freezes. Aidan exits the library and halts when he sees you at gunpoint. His eyes widen and anger takes over his facial features. He lets out a yell and charges towards the criminal. Before the man can do anything, Aidan rips you out of the man's arms and starts walking him with his books. Aidan shoves the man down and kneels on top of him, while hitting the man in the face with science fiction. You quickly reach your shaking hand into your pocket to pull out your phone. While you're on the phone with the police, Aidan holds the man down.~
After the police came, took the man away, and interviewed Aidan and you, they left. You wearily sink against your car. "Are you okay?" Aidan asks worriedly, standing next to you. "Just tired. That was crazy." You say. "Yeah." He agrees. "Thank you. For saving my life." You say, smiling at him. He returns it. "You're welcome." He says. "I don't think that man will ever want to see another sci-fi book in his life." You laugh. Aidan laughs with you. "It was the only thing I could think of, besides my fists." He states. You smile and rests your head against your car. "So, Y/N." Aidan starts. You look at him, surprise marking your face. "What?" He asks, his eyebrows drawing. "You know my name." You state. He laughs and nods. "Yeah, yeah I do." He answers. You smile and look away. "Since you've had a really crazy afternoon, would you allow me to take you to dinner?" He asks. You look at him, your eyes widening. "Really?" You ask. He smiles and nods." Yeah, really." He says. You grin. "Sure." You reply. Aidan grins. "Great!" He exclaims. "Do-do you want to go now?" He asks. You shrug. "Yeah, sure, why not?" You say. "Okay, okay, great!" He exclaims. "There's a really good Italian restaurant down the road. Want to go there?" He asks, heading to the drivers seat of his car. "Yeah." You say, unable to control your smile. "Okay! See you there!" He exclaims, hopping into his car. You slide into your as he pulls out of the parking lot. You let out a squeal of joy before starting the car and following him.
