Zhan took a deep breath as he pulled car over the porch of his beach side villa with a roaring broom of the wheels. He still had four minutes left from the given time. The red Lamborghini of his mother was already parked there.

She has a weird behaviour of choosing things of different colours according to her mood. Since she chose a red one from all of the other favourites of her, it's a warning for him to be cautious. After all, red is well known as the colour of fury. He took in a deep breath before stepping out of the car. The cold wind having a fresh salty touch from the beach caressed his face but it wasn't of much help to cool him down.

Inside the living room, there was a peaceful silence. The evident sounds are only the ticking of clock, flipping of pages, mild breath of his mother and the loud noise of his heart banging against his chest.

He could see his mother sitting in the couch, swinging left leg that crossed over the right one and leisurely reading a magazine that placed on her lap. She was wearing a red dress and was reading it seriously as she played with her long nails painted in red colour.

Zhan gulped and slowly made way towards her. He paused a few steps away from her and cleared his throat to grab her attention. She heard it and stopped whatever she was doing but still kept the same posture of reading the magazine. Slowly, means very slowly she checked her golden watch and smirked.

"Good. You still had fifty three seconds left." She said and went back to reading the magazine without sparing a glance to her son.

Zhan looked down. He was still standing beside her, hands crossed behind his back as if he is ready to obey whatever orders that she would give him. A few seconds passed and still she didn't looked at him. Zhan knew he has to do something. His mother won't forgive him that easily for the sins he had done. He kneeled down infront of her.

"Mama, I'm sorry. Please forgive me." He said still looking down with a guilty face.

Seems like it affected her. She looked at him and her eyes twitched slightly at the sight infront of her. Her curious eyes scanned him from top to bottom but he didn't noticed it because he was looking down.

"Nice dress. From when did my son started to have a liking towards flowers?" She asked, calmly extending her hands to pinch the shirt that Zhan wore with the tip of her two fingers and felt the clothe.

Abruptly Zhan looked up to met with her heated eyes. His heart thundered hard inside the chest. He can't afford to be in her bad list right now.

Zhan kowtowed* and said: "I'm very sorry Mama! Please forgive me."

(* Here, by Kowtow, I meant kneeling and putting down forehead on the floor.)

Her eyes shivered by anger and she pulled his ear with her long fingers. "Brat! How thick skinned you are to ask forgiveness right now? Don't you have a bit of shame, rascal?" She twisted his ears and he jumped on his heels painfully along with his mother who didn't seems like stopping any moment soon.

"Ah! Ah! Aahhh! Maamaaa! I was wrong!!! Please spare ahhh... My ears. They must be bleeding right now!!" He cried out of pain but she didn't seems like stopping.

"Let them bleed, you brat! I hope it will be a lesson for you!" She sneered, then left his ear and turned her face from him before going back to the couch to sat on it.

Hissing, Zhan rubbed his ear, hoping it will soothe the pain and looked to his now sulking mother. He smiled at her antics but in heart, felt very much guilty on making her mad. It was really cruel of him to not visit her for almost two months, more precisely from the day of his interrupted marriage. It's quite natural of her to react like this.
