PROPOSAL

"Patricia Davis. We've been through a lot together. Kauban ka nako through my ups and downs ug gikuyugan ko nimo sa panahong abi nako nga dili na nako kaya. You've been my source of strength but at the same time you are my weakness. Wanna know why?" ingon niya samtang walay undang sa pag agas ang mga luha saiyang mata. Maski ako dili mapugngan ang akong luha pero pilit ni nako nga gipahiran gamit ang akong kamot. He sweetly smiled and like a mirror, I matched his smile even with my tearful eyes.

"Why?" I whispered almost not hearing my own voice.

"Because you are my solitude Pat. You are the only person who gave me peace in this chaotic world. Every night ginaampo nako nga unta ikaw na akong makauban sa tibuok nakong kinabuhi. And that is exactly the reason why I want to ask you this question right now..." hinay hinay siya nga niluhod ug gipagawas ang singsing gikas saiyang bulsa.

I covered my mouth while my eyes still continued to drop more tears.

" Patricia Davis, I would love to put my surname into yours.
Will you be my wife? " umiiyak na aniya.

The crowd went crazy as they were all chanting "say yes" repeatedly. Kusog kaayo ang kulba saakong dughan ug walay undang ang akong paghilak pero despite all of these mixed emotions, nangibabaw ang akong kalipay.

"Yes Fausto! I would love to!"

Kusog kaayo ang singgit sa mga tao sa palibot while naglantaw sa eksena samtang ako hinay hinay nga nilakaw palayo  hoping nga walay makabantay sa akong pagkawala.

And that's the reason why he couldn't keep his promise to me.
