*Aoife's POV*

"Don't you think?" Ashton asked me, standing from where he sat on the grass of Mansfield Common. "Yeah---" I said sarcastically, "With our luck." I laughed, standing with him. I dusted off my pants before we started our walk up the path to head out of the park. "We deserve something like that, Eff." Ashton replied, looking over at me as we walked, the sun blaring down on us as the trees ended and the sidewalk began, on that rare 95 degree day in Mansfield, Massachusetts, "We've seen so many concerts--granted, not very close, because who can afford that." He laughed, "But---what if they're just, walkin around here." He added, motioning around the park. "I guess." I shrugged, laughing lightly, "It would be kinda cool. We've never run into any celebrities who come to perform at the center, though." I said, speaking of the Xfinity Center, here in Mansfield.

Ashton was my best friend of my entire life, as long as I could remember. He and I had lived in Mansfield all growing up, and knew there was one really cool thing about it; The Xfinity Center. We got good deals on mediocre seats, but seats nonetheless, to really any show we wanted to usually, because of Ashton's aunt working for the venue. She was really cool, and used to get us closer seats until the venue became more popular for super famous artists, and started to sell out most shows, if not most of them nearly sold out. However, the show happening the next day was different. A completely different type of show than any that would have gone to before. The Xfinity Center was going to be hosted by The Sturniolo Triplets, who had been Ashton and I's favorite Youtubers for three years at that time.

"It just sucks so bad that they sold out---but I heard their tour so far has been so fun!" Ashton said with a whining tone, "But Sal couldn't get us tickets because they're not filling out the Center for them---it's small, more close interaction with the fans, I guess." He explained. "I know, it sucks." I sighed, "This was the first one we've wanted to go to in a while." I paused, "But, there's always next time. Anyway---what time do you work, again?" I asked him, checking the time on my watch. "I don't work today---I was supposed to, but something about inspection at the restaurant, and it had to be closed for the full inspection, or some shit." Ashton explained, waving his hand, "Either way--I just got paid, so let's go do something." He begged dramatically.

Ashton was always the dramatic type. When it came to school, though I knew at a young age by being his best friend. He didn't exert the fact he was gay to really anyone in school. Some would know, some wouldn't ever notice because of it honestly being so normalized around that time in 2019-present. Things did get a lot easier for him when we graduated in 2022, and he could truly be himself without having to worry. We lived in an apartment building in western Mansfield, not far from where he and I worked. He worked as a line cook at a local restaurant, and I worked at the grocery store not even a block away from the restaurant.

"Wait---" Ashton said, stopping in his tracks twenty minutes into our walk. "What?" I questioned his stiff posture and serious face. I looked in the direction where he was looking and spotted a true orange shirt down the street as the person had walked into a building, followed by someone in a purple shirt, "What?" I questioned again, laughing lightly as he stood very still. "Nothing." He shook his head, "Must be nothing. Couldn't be." He shook his head again, then looked up, causing me to look up naturally, "Could it?" He asked, still looking up at the sky. "What are you going through?" I asked, continuing to walk down the sidewalk towards the coffee shop around the corner from our apartment building, "C'mon---let's go, Ash." I waved my hand for him to follow me. He looked at me with wide eyes, "Could it be?" He asked, then continued walking. "You're so strange, sometimes." I shook my head. "No." He said, looking over at me as we made it to the coffee shop, "Wait--I saw something--" He said, stopping be from going into the building. "What did you see?" I raised an eyebrow at him as he slowly walked towards the next building, which was an Apple store. He waved his hand for me to walk with him, "Okay---casual." He said, standing up straight before we almost came to the window of the building, "Pretend like we're talking real quick." He said. "We are talking." I gave him a strange look, and he faked a laugh as he glanced over casually into the window of the Apple store before he looked back down at me in completely shock, "Aiofe." He said seriously. "Uh-oh. Full name, what---" I said, turning my head to the right briefly.
