*^Beep~ Beep^ *my alarm went off.
I stretched a little bit and looked at the time.
Shit! It was 3:15 pm and I had to get my younger brother Alex from school at 3:00.
My Dad had left early for work and returned very late so I had to take care of everything.
My Mom left us 8 years ago and married another man.
I hate her for doing this.
I would never like to see her again.
Then again I'm 16 years old. I can take care of myself and handle everything.
I grabbed my jacket and the keys and drove off to my brother's school.
I saw him waiting outside.
"El, you're late!"he sounded annoyed.
"I'm so sorry ,honey! I promise I won't be late again." I said.
"I wanna go to the park!"Alex shouted.
"Alex we don't have time."I said.
"Please?" he looked at me with puppy eyes.
Aww
.. "Fine, but you'll do your homework straight after we get back home" I said.
"YEAH!!!!!...",he yelled with joy and did a short dance.
I laughed.
We arrived at the park. "Ice-cream!!!!!...",Alex shouted and ran towards the shop.
"Alex , wait!!"I ordered but he wouldn't listen and with that he disappeared into the crowd.
I searched for him everywhere but couldn't see any sign of him.
I sat on a bench and buried my head in my hands.
It's all my fault I shouldn't have let him go.
When suddenly I heard some noises behind the bush.
It was Alex and he was with maybe his friend. I was relieved to see him.
I ran towards him and engulfed him in a huge hug.
"Oh My God Alex! Don't ever do that again. You know how worried I was?? Are you even listening?" I yelled at him.
I felt quite bad but he deserved it.
"I'm sorry El " he apologised.
I could feel someone glaring at me. When I looked up, it was him.
"You?!!" We both said in unison. Arghhh why was he here?
"I always thought you were grumpy and today I even saw that. Why are you yelling at that poor kid?? " He asked me.
"Excuse-me? He's my brother and it's none of your business" I snapped at him.
