Leo glanced at the ground below him and held his breath. He couldn't remember why he had agreed to play the childish game of hide and seek when he was already 17, but he could take a guess it was something to do with the puppy dog eyes he received from the children.
Since he was an Omega he often got to babysit the kids while the adults did business.
And by business, it was mafia work.
Leo could say that his family was just like any other and it wouldn't be too much of a stretch. But if you looked deeper you would see everything different about them.
Two of the younger pups he was looking after stopped at the bottoms of the tree he was in and started smelling for him.
Leo knew there wasn't any wind so his scent wouldn't travel down. And since they were so young, they wouldn't be able to pick up his scent so far away.
After a few minutes of trying to find him the pups ran off. He figured they would go for the older one of the group, Isabella.
Even though she was just 5, the kid was a genius. She was going to be a good asset to the family.
Leo looked around him and decided to play nice for once. He started his descent from the tree and landed softly on the forest floor. He smiled to himself before his phone started to ring.
His smile dropped immediately, and he sighed at the distant sound of feet coming towards him.
He knew the game was over now and pulled the traitor out of his pocket. He answered it and was surprised at the voice.
"I found you."
Leo turned around and saw the little genius with a huge smile on her face.
Isabella laughed at his expression and ended the call.
"You didn't think I would find you, huh?"
Leo sighed and started to head towards her.
"I didn't think you would get your mother's phone just to call me, and see if my ringtone would go off."
She smiled even bigger and laughed.
"And that's exactly what I did. Mommy was confused at first, but I told her I would tell her later."
Leo smiled at the happy pheromones being emitted. He would do anything to make sure the pups always smelled happy.
It wasn't long before the rest of the kids found them. They complained about Isabella finding him first, and that it wasn't them. She just smiled and proudly told them it was because she was older.
Leo started leading them back to the house while still listening to their complaints. He thought about stopping them but decided to just let the pups sort it out. Besides they would just end up asking him a million questions about why they had to head home.
Leo knew that the meeting must be done by now, and the sun was starting to lazily descent.
He saw the house and noticed the cars that were there this morning were gone.
Hopefully, it went well for us.
They usually did, but only because his father, Luka, fought tooth and nail to get what he wanted.
Alphas knew how to fight, Betas did the talking, and Omegas sat back and watched.
This is how his family worked. It was how they were taught from a young age.
Leo knew that his parents never wanted him to think lowly of himself, but they also didn't want him getting into situations.
But they still always found him.
