The Struggle

In this day in age we are so quick to listen to social media and preach what we hear
Yet we need to open our eyes
We were blessed with two eyes
Two ears
One mouth
For a reason
We not only need to acknowledge what's right under our noses
But take action
As a black person
We cannot eat
We cannot sleep
We cannot blink
We cannot stand
We cannot walk or
We cannot even breathe
Because the "White Man" said so
He believes the pigment of our skin is repulsive
Where I was taught
My black is beautiful, beauty is in all shades
He feels threatened by the color of someone's skin
"I felt as if my life was in danger"
He rather shoot my brothers and sisters
He rather look down on us "Supremacist"
He rather rape my brothers and sisters
He rather try to make money of us
He rather spread hate
The mindset of some people seizes to amaze me
How can you treat humans like they are nothing?
Like we are mere pawns on their territory yet we did not ask to be here
Like we are the scum off the bottom of their shoe
It brings tears to my eyes
Our society is stuck in times Where my ancestors fought so hard for my people to not have to experience the hardships they endured
Where my ancestors once ruled our beautiful home
Everyone is so quick to say we are free and racism does not exist
When someone says this I say
"It is very much alive
Because if you were to walk in my shoes you would know
We cannot walk
We cannot stand
We cannot talk
We cannot blink
We cannot sleep
We cannot eat or
We cannot even breathe"
The only thing that is missing in this picture is the hoses and the dogs out to get us in these streets
Wait the dogs are out there they have helmets on
Weapons strapped up
Smoke bombs ready
And "protect and serve" written in blood on the bodies of my people in the streets
