"why am i here..?" yujin found himself muttering below his breath as he sat washed away by himself in a corner of the random, heavily crowded living room.

well, he was by himself if he disregarded leeseo and ricky who were sat beside him, much too indulged in their own conversation. kyujin would usually be sat there as well, but she was busy being sociable.

yujin wondered how aera and leeseo even got invited. kyujin made sense... she seemed to know everyone within a ten kilometre radius every time yujin simply went cycling with her. aera and leeseo, however, not so much.

yujin's wandering eyes soon met the bar over to the right. aera stood there beside gunwook. she was completely intoxicated.

he smirked softly at the way she so clumsily teetered into her seat. cute.

"oOOoh~, yujin's staring at a girl-" leeseo started, but yujin acted quickly, throwing a pillow at her to shut her up.

wait. 'a girl?' he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as he turned back at leeseo, "huh..? what girl?"

ricky rolled his eyes, "look at him acting all clueless."

"right? he was totally staring at that girl in the pink."

yujin looked up to where leeseo was motioning. there was indeed a girl in pink stood where the others were. she seemed to be talking to kyujin and gyuvin.

"look, he's staring again!" ricky teased. yujin practically tore away his eyes in the matter of seconds.

"no i wasn't," he muttered, feeling his face burn a shade of bright pink as he bit the inside of his cheek and turned to look the other way.

"we should set you up with her." leeseo smiled, nudging his shoulder with her arm, "it'd be the perfect way for you to get over you-know-who, as well!"

"n-no, i-"

"gyuvin!" leeseo called out to him over the blaring party music.

gyuvin seemed to turn his head almost instantly at her voice. she motioned for him to come over.

"hey guys! what's up?" he asked as he walked over. leeseo smiled and put a hand on gyuvin's shoulder, subtly nudging her head in the direction of the girl.

"that girl over there, how do you guys know her?"

"huh? oh, minyoung? she works with me and kyujin. why?"

"oh, i think yujin here--"

"i don't!" he retaliated before leeso could do so much as finish her sentence. but with how he had gotten all red in the face and abruptly defensive, there was only so much gyuvin had left to guess with.

"oOOoh~, yujin's got a crush!" gyuvin drawled. yujin only sighed and slumped back in his seat. there was no arguing anymore. they would prod either way, there was no point in wasting his breath.

the three of them began to chat. he could hear his name being mentioned along with minyoung's a couple of times, so it was only safe to assume that they were formulating one of their stupid 'villainous schemes' in order to set the two of them up. he sighed and allowed himself to space out for a moment.

what a drag. he wondered how princess was doing back at home. he should've stayed with her instead. it was too loud in here. and aera was too far away for him to be able to talk to her without having to get up and walk over awkwardly in a way that would have people turning their heads to watch him in his shame.

his eyes flicked back to where aera was earlier.

oh.

she wasn't there anymore.

gunwook seemed to be searching around frantically for something.

huh. strange. she must've wandered off somewhere.

yujin's eyes widened in a sudden strike of realisation.

aera was drunk.

extremely drunk.

and what do drunk people do?

stupid things. stupid things that could get them killed if they weren't careful. 

and what drunk person is ever careful?
