Chapter 2: The First Clues

The rain fell in relentless sheets as Detective Sarah and Inspector Raj stood outside the rundown apartment building. Flashing police lights cast an eerie glow on the wet pavement, and the distant wails of sirens echoed through the night. The atmosphere was charged with tension as the forensic team worked tirelessly inside the crime scene.

Sarah adjusted her rain-soaked trench coat and pulled the collar tighter around her neck. She could feel the weight of the case pressing down on her, like a storm cloud threatening to unleash its fury.

As they entered the apartment, the stench of death hung heavy in the air. The victim's lifeless body lay sprawled on the floor, surrounded by the macabre aftermath of the killer's sadistic artistry. Her heart sank at the sight of such brutality, but she could not afford to let her emotions get the best of her.

Raj motioned toward a wall where a cryptic message had been scrawled in blood. The words were a puzzle, a twisted riddle that had become the killer's signature. "Another message," Raj said with a grimace. "He wants us to play his sick game."

She turned to Raj. "We need to collect every piece of evidence and get this message to the lab. Maybe this time we will find something that leads us closer to him."
