Every time I leave you my fingers smell like cigarettes and your breath like beer
-anonymous lover

I watch you breath as you lay, your long body sprawled out across the couch.
I press the cigarette against my dry lips, holding back the tiers that won't to fall as I look at you, I wonder if you know how it feels like I'm being stabbed over and over again every time you do this.
Your eyes open I'm not surprised by this your really good at faking being asleep.  are eyes meet and I stand up walking over to you with the blanket I was using looking down on you I quietly ask the question I always do when this happens "my I lay next to you?" You answer with you normal patronizing attitude "if you won't" "are you ok with it" I spit back at you "I don't care" I poll my eye brows together in frustration and lay down next to you pressing my back against your chest, you slip your arm under my head and pull me closer with the other one. I relax finally able to breath, in your arms.
