As Anna and Thomas walked hand in hand toward the medieval village, the air was filled with the scent of earth and the distant sounds of a bustling marketplace. The landscape looked both alien and strangely familiar, as if they had stepped into a shared dream.

The village was a quaint collection of thatched cottages, cobbled streets, and market stalls selling goods that were relics of a bygone era. People in medieval attire bustled about, their eyes filled with curiosity as they watched the newcomers.

Anna, who was really Ava, and Thomas, who was actually Noah, exchanged glances. It was bewildering to be in this historical setting, but they had to focus on their mission. If what Eve had said was true, the answers to the Cyteran conflict lay hidden in this world.

"We need to find out more about this place and the people who inhabit it," Ava said softly, clutching the rough fabric of her peasant dress.

Noah nodded, his eyes darting around. "Let's start by asking someone about the village and see if they can give us any information."

They approached a market stall where an elderly woman was selling herbs and remedies. She had a kind, wrinkled face that radiated wisdom. Noah took the lead.

"Excuse me, ma'am," he began, trying to sound as though he belonged in this time period. "We're new to this village and were wondering if you could tell us more about it. We've come a long way."

The woman studied them for a moment before a knowing smile crept across her face. "Ah, newcomers, are ye? Well, ye've stepped into the village of Briarwood, a place where secrets run as deep as the roots of our ancient oak tree."

Ava and Noah exchanged glances again, this time with a spark of hope. Maybe this place held the answers they sought.

"We're here to learn," Ava said, choosing her words carefully. "We've heard rumors of a great quest, one that could change the fate of this land. Can you tell us more?"

The woman's eyes twinkled with intrigue. "Aye, I can, but it's not a tale for the faint of heart. It's said that long ago, this land was blessed with a powerful artifact known as the 'Key of Concord.' It held the ability to bring peace to warring factions and harmony to the land."

Noah leaned in closer, his interest piqued. "What happened to this Key of Concord?"

The woman's expression darkened. "It was stolen, young ones. The realm fell into chaos, and the Key's location was lost to history. Many have sought it, but none have succeeded."

Ava felt a rush of excitement mixed with apprehension. Could this be the mystical knowledge they were seeking? The key to unlocking peace on Cytera?

"We are willing to help," she said firmly. "Tell us everything you know about the Key of Concord, and we will do our best to find it."

The woman studied them for a moment longer before nodding approvingly. "Very well, I will share what I can, but first, you must prove your dedication to this quest. Seek out the wise elder of our village, Gideon. He alone holds the knowledge you seek."

With that, the woman handed them a map that showed the way to Gideon's cottage on the outskirts of the village. As Ava and Noah thanked her and began to make their way toward their next destination, they couldn't help but feel that they were one step closer to unraveling the mysteries of this ancient world and, perhaps, finding the key to peace on Cytera.
