"Teacher Oh hasn't come yet?"

Books in his hands, Mingi looked at the empty seat from the other side of the table and casually welcomed himself on the same bench as Sunhee.

The girl didn't bother to reply. Her focus went back to the page where a specific Math exercise on display. Having no idea which formula to use drove her nuts. Plus, she wasn't even in the mood to converse.

"Can't you hear me?"

"Can't you see yourself?"

The youngsters were in the Songs garden, waiting for their tutor to come.

In the name of motherhood, Mrs. Song originally hired a tutor for her son who seemed not to care for his academic results enough. However, Mingi didn't plan to suffer alone. He asked Mrs. Lee if he could recruit Sunhee. The woman agreed in a heartbeat, with a belief that her daughter had too much free time to spare after school so extra studies caused no harm at all.

As a result, Sunhee was compelled to join the whole summer last year. Even when schoolyear started, it became a custom of them going straight to Mingi's house on the Songs' family car for tutorial sessions.

"That hair. You got an earful from aunt I suppose?

His taunt made her groan. As weird as it sounded, Mingi enjoyed every second of it. At least she gave off some reaction instead of keeping that straight face.

"Is it that obvious?" She asked back after a brief moment of silence. "Mom was so angry."

"I'm confident I know your mother as much as you know mine." He puffed his chest arrogantly.

The age of fourteen changed both Sunhee and Mingi in their own ways.

Lee Sunhee. Yesterday she appeared with a bob cut which undoubtedly brought an uproar to her home. Mother Lee was too stunned to speak when she first saw her daughter with that hair. She scolded Sunhee for being so unaware. As a daughter from a blue-blooded family, she meant to appear with modesty and grace in people's eye.

Except Mingi, the boys in class called her 'dude' since her hair was even shorter than all of them. The girls, on the other hand, squealed over how cool and out of the norm she looks.

"Do you enjoy the attention? With that hair cut?"

Her voice raised."WHAT?" She balled the crumble papers in her fist before throwing at him full force. "I just want my hair short. I don't need anyone gives what's mine recognition!"

"Calm down Lee. I'm just curious!"

"Out of everyone, you have no right to ask me that, Song. You know me for years!"

"Alright alright. Sorry," the boy pleaded then cautiously sat back down his seat. "If so, then act on your way?"

"That's what I'm gonna do." Her frown dropped, replaced by a grin. "What's called grace doesn't suit me either so why would I care?" She rocked his arm excitedly, causing him to pull away with fake disgust on his face. "And you side with me?"

Song Mingi had a secret.

He had a soft spot for Sunhee's long hair despite being her alliance. It was a shame that she cut it, he thought but never voiced it out. Her mid-back length hair held his attention every time. Like a part of his everyday life, when she fell asleep next to him after tutorial sessions ended, he just simply stared at it, admiring its good job at enhancing her features.

She had grace, one you couldn't see but feel to acknowledge. To Mingi, her way was a pull, a definition of appealing already.

Long or short doesn't matter, as long as it's you.
