"Dude are you even paying attention?"
My friend, Shon, was waving a hand in front of my face.
"You've been staring off into space, ignoring all of the updates that our favorite game had received while you were away!"
He glances through the window in the direction I was staring at, spotting the girl I had my eyes on for the last few minutes.
"Longing that hard?" Shon asked as he looked back at me.
"Shut up, as if you were to find one, and you've been single longer than I have. Besides, I'm curious about her" I said in response.
Shon stared at me for at me for a few minutes before shrugging. "Well, I don't know anything about her if you were gonna ask, just go ask her while I finish my shift"
Shon walked back behind the registers and started to converse with his coworkers. I continue to watch the girl, observing her actions as she slowly walked out of view.
With a sigh I check my phone to see if there were anything new from home before looking back to where I last saw her. I sat there a little longer, lost in my curiosity.
My return to my home town was to spend the holidays with family and maybe reconnect with some old mates from highschool, hoping I can find something before Newyears arrived.
With a glance at my watch I left the fast-food restaurant and started to aimlessly walking around the unusually busy town, my mind still wondering about that girl I had saw.
She appeared almost everywhere I went but something seemed amiss, I just couldn't put my finger on it, yet.
A tap on my shoulder pulled me from away from the mess of thoughts and back to the real world. Removing my earbuds that I don't remember putting in I looked around me, taking in the unfamiliar sight.
Another tap on my shoulder caused me to find who was doing it until my eyes landed on the girl that had been the center of my thoughts.
She tilted her head to the side and lifted her hand as if to say what I was doing.
"Your wondering if I am lost?" I asked
She moved her hand as to sign kind of. I looked around for a street sign, memorizing the name once I found it.
"Do you live around here by chance?" I asked the girl.
She nodded in response then pointed further down the street, towards the more run-down houses. I looked back but the girl was now gone.
I spun in a circle, looking for her only to find that she was far down the street heading towards one of the old houses.
I shook my head and walked back towards the newer buildings after watching her shoo me away.

Heyo, your author, Crex, here. I do apologize about some of what I have posted, some of that shite came from a strange time in my life. I hope you find some sort of interest in this story, it is something I have never done before as I plan to make it fall into an odd romance because I am weird like that and wanted to make such a thing after reaching adulthood.
But seriously, I hope you enjoyed this first chapter of this story
