My ears were immediately assaulted by an argument between my brothers over who gets to play on the big screen.

With a groan I rolled over, not wanting to be awake just yet as I had not returned from my wandering until half past midnight.

"Will you shut the fuck up!" I yelled, rolling to face my bothers when they couldn't reach a compromise.

They opened their mouths to argue but quickly closed them once I stood up and walked towards the kitchen, still exhausted.

After pouring myself a bowl of cereal my phone buzzed with a message from my friend.

From: Shon: Dude, where did u go las niht?

I took a bite of cereal before responding.

I put my empty bowl into the sink, having finished it before sending that last text to my friend, and went to the livingroom to find my bags to grab some clothes for the day.

Common pair of jeans, my blue plaid button up shirt that I normally tucked in, white socks and my signature brown hiking shoes. With all this in my arms I went into the bathroom that sat between the livingroom and my parents bedroom.

Upon exiting the bathroom, having changed and shaved my face, excluding my redhead colored mustache, I ran into my mother.

"Mornin mom"

"Good morning bear, you alright? You seem like there's is something on your mind." My mother asks

I stood there, thinking for a moment on whether I should lie, or just tell the truth. Eh, I hated lies so I told the truth.

"There is this girl that has caught my eye recently, someone I have not seen in town before. I ran into her last night in some part of town I didn't recognize, which is why I got back so late" I explained truthfully.

My mother cocked her head slightly, "Have fun, maybe bring her around sometime" she said as she walked away.

"Mom! I would rather not scare her away right off the bat! Especially because of fatass Pat and his ass of a mouth, or Christopher and his pickish games! I only just met her, I don't even know her name yet!" I yelled out in embarrassment.

My mother only replied with a laugh before disappearing into the kitchen.

Parents, I swear.
