I had slyly slipped my hand towards the box of dinosaurs fruit snacks lying right next to my older brothers' butt. Almost instantly I had felt a stinging pain on the back side of my small, frail hand. I had completely twisted my head so I was facing my brother. Joey's smile was soft but his eyes had said something far more different. Those eyes spoke in an urgent manner, one I could not understand when I was younger.

"You slapped me Jojo!"

"Yeah I did"

"But Jojo I wanna fruit snack." I whined. "You know dinosaurs are my favorite that's not fair, not fair, not fair." By now I was jumping in my seat screaming about how stupid my brother was being. My chest was thumping up and down, my breath becoming shorter. I quickly stopped acting up, my fear of hyperventilating again surfacing from inside.

"Wait till we reach the house Ya ya."

"Mommy drives so gosh darn slow though. Nicky tell Jojo to give me a fruit snack!" I had my head rotated at an angle so my little, innocent, gullible brother could see me clearly. My pleading eyes were quietly asking him to be on my side.

"Bro said no, so no." At that exact moment the green sign that read off our exit passed us by.

"Mom the exit!" I wail.

"Oh shoot" I know this next part is basically illegal but I'll say it anyways.

My mom takes the wheel in both hands and grips it hard. In less time than I could comprehend the car was screeching across the dry white paint. You know the paint that basically screams don't drive on my? Yeah, that paint.

"Mom what the hell?!"

"Watch your mouth!" She snapped literally in my face.

"But..."

"No buts."

"There's a freakin' car coming right at us! Slow the hell down!"

She swerves away from the bright yellow, speeding Mustang, only to be hit by a red mini van full of flowers.

Usually at this time any five year old would be crying and screaming. Well I sure wasn't. This mini van of course just had to be lodged near the side of my head. Unlike most five year olds I was beyond pissed. To be truthful I was fuming. I could feel the blood rush to my face in fury, the massive heat waves radiating from my small child-like frame. The anger and power that was building inside me had this intoxicating grip on my consciousness.

Nothing like that had ever happened to me like that before. Joey my older brother had cautiously slipped a dinosaur fruit snack pouch into my coat pocket. Surprisingly enough I loved dinosaurs so much I was instantly calm.

As my muscles relaxed a cool rush of wind had swept passed my face causing me to shiver. My sense felt as though they were intensified. Meaning my hearing was at its' best.

"Hey! What the hell did you think you were doing lady?! You could have fucking killed us! Learn how to drive you damn whore!" While I'm listening to this beastly man scream at my mother, I hear a faint whimper in the seat next to me. There was my little brother crying in his hands which were shaking rapidly.

I knew I had to do something, seeing my brother like that did not make anyone feel better. So what did I do?

"Hey, don't you dare talk to my mommy like that asshole!" I got up out of our dented car and marched my way over to the ugly man.

"What did you say little pest?"

"I said you're a God damn asshole and you shouldn't be talking to my mother like that you stupid fat man women!" I was a very aggressive, protective child. I just despised people like him.

"What the hell is wrong with your damn child?!" Right then he got in my moms' face standing over her like a statue. You could see all the spit fly out of his mouth as he went on rambling.

"If you don't get away from my mother I'll file child abuse on you. I am a great actor."

"What?!"

"You see as I was getting out of the car I scraped my knee on the pointy metal on that door. Also, while you were flinging your fat arms around you hit my face. Your hand made contact with my face.....child abuse or not?" My mom decided to teach me some new words once I started talking. She was a crazy women back when I used to talk and defend her. She did piss me off sometimes or most of the time, but that's what happens when you teach to early.

"Fine, you can leave but if you do it again I swear to the man in the sky that I'll be there." That guy was pretty insane but back then I was still worried about Nicky. I mean I had to be, mom didn't even seem to care about her kids at all, me being one that just pissed me off twice as much.

"Let's go honey"

"Don't let's go honey me! Nicky's crying and shaking in there go comfort hm not me!"

"I'll talk to him later just get in the car Elyssa." I hated those words. They sounded so chopped up, like she was the one who had to save me from that beastly man women.

While in our blue jeep I didn't talk to anyone. No one at all not even my two brothers who, might I add, were staring at me strangely. Even Nicky the one who was crying earlier had stared at me weird.

"Mom, when are we getting there?" I ask, you know just so I could think of something other than my brothers' eyes boring into my sides.

"Soon" My mom wasn't that well with words though she did tend to gossip a lot. Trust me when I say a lot.
