The beginning of a wonderful tale.
I wonder what our protagonist will have to face?

"[NAME], GET YOUR LAZY BEHIND UP OR WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO DRIVE LATE!!" Our protagonist's roommate, Gunner, shouted from downstairs, his voice conveying his frustration.

"Uughh.. give me five more minutes..." [Name] muttered, their eyes still shut tightly.
After laying in bed for a few more minutes, [Name] finally sat up while muttering to themself.

[Name] had sat there for a while, trying to figure out what Gunner had meant by having to drive late. Soon, they had realized what their roommate was talking about. They had a convention to get to, and today was the last day before it started.

"SHOOT-!" They quickly got up out of bed, grabbing their suitcase and their clothes, getting dressed and practically shoving their clothes into their suitcase.
Despite their hurried actions, [Name] made care not to ruin their two cosplays while putting them in their backpack.

Gunner threw the door open, but when he realized that [Name] had gotten ready and packed, he just froze.
"I... see you've already gotten dressed and packed." He spoke before sighing. "Just.. get your behind in the car, okay? We don't have long until that hotel is all booked."

[Name] nodded in response, a faint smile crossing their face. "Got it, ink-face!" [Name] had always called Gunner that nickname ever since they realized that they both shared an interest in Undertale and the AUs, specifically Dust and Ink.

♤ Timeskip ♧

[Name] was currently dead asleep in the passenger seat of the car, as they were not used to waking up at 8 AM to go to a con.

Gunner was humming along to the playlist he was listening to over the car radio. The one thing that woke [Name] up was the fact that Final Duet from Omori began playing.

Gunner had a 'what the heck?' expression on his face, for lack of better word.

"And good morning, I guess-!" [Name] said, stretching as they sat up straight and looked around.

Everything was going wonderfully.

Until the loud sound of tires screeching and a crash could be heard.

Everything went black.

What happened?

. . . .

It's cold.

Too cold.

I don't want to open my eyes. . .

I'm scared of what I'll see. .

. . .

My eyes open slowly, looking over my dark surroundings.
There's just darkness... no light, no nothing. Yet, I could still see.

I sat up slowly, looking down at my hands. They were scraped and bloody, as if I'd gotten into an accident.

Was that what happened?
Is that why I'm here?

I glanced at my outfit, noticing how badly torn and bloodied it was.

Was it mine? I had no clue.

I tried to stand up.. it hurt, mostly in the leg area, but I managed. Soon, I noticed a figure in the distance... They felt familiar to me, but I couldn't focus on that feeling.
