Aether (Teil 1)

It was a great day and that although another city has fallen days ago. Wandering through the ashes of some burned human bones I giggled quietly and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. But of course it was dangerous. There is that Yaksha who hunts demons. Many friends fell into his hands and disappeared but I wasn't very sad about it. They weren't enjoying my presence anyway. Jumping around I opened my braid and enjoyed the wind in my hair. It was dirty and full of ashes but it made me happy because it looked like snow.

As I sat down I looked into the sky. Very unbelievable that it's fake but Barbatos said so. Well one of the elder told that at least. Hours passed by and my joy was gone. I became tired as I noticed a certain aura. The conquerer... If I have enough chance to flee? But I'm not fast and not in my demon form either. I should look like a poor human child who kind of survived the destruction of its city. Trying to think about something else I went into a direction and shouted for my parents as part of a disguise because I don't have any. Then it happened the Yaksha landed in front of me and I looked at him shocked.

,, are you a survivor. "
His voice was cold and I knew that if I said one wrong word I'd die.
,, p-please don't hurt me s-scary man!"
Let's see if he falls for it or not. The Yaksha looked at me skeptical but then kneed down.
,, I won't. Come I'll bring you to other humans"
Scared I slowly took his hand and in the next moment we stood in front of a gate. Playing the scared child I hid behind a pillar and didn't want to go inside. But he didn't care and just went away. Humans came to me nd took me in, giving me fresh clothes and a bowl with water.
Some guy: please wash yourself and put on those clothes

Doing as I was told I washed myself and put on the clothings that were given to me. Of course I don't know how long I can cover my demon aura but it was great to have some people care for me. As I finished I went back to those humans and looked at the food they offered me.
Human food... I don't think it'll harm me but I better don't try.
Shaking my head I pretended that I was very tired.
Woman: poor thing. You can sleep there.
Pointing to a room she smiled a little and I went there waiting for them to go to bed. Everything was quiet so I opened the window and jumped outside running to the destroyed city in the shadows. I didn't know that I was watched by a certain person.

Laying down in the human ashes I quietly hummed an old melody. But not for long because the green haired stood behind me.
,, chose to go back hm? "
Instantly turning around I look at him with widened eyes.
,, w-what do you mean?"
Coming closer he put up his spear and held it in front of my stomach.
,, you're a demon. And my contract says to kill them. "
In fear I started to cry. His aura was scarier than any demon's I've met.
,, please... I'm not harming anyone! N-never did"
He didn't listen. I felt the stab and closed my eyes slowly falling to my knees.
,, something tells me it's wrong though. "
He sighed and picked me up. I can't remember what happened after. But I woke up in a bed with a bandaged stomach.

,, you say you never hurt anyone. I thought you lied but your blood was like a humans."
Turning my head I looked at the Yaksha who stood there with crossed arms.
,, why did you help me?"
Letting out an annoyed sound he just jumped out of the window. Slowly standing up I fell down but Morax himself caught me.
,, the g-geo archon?! "
Morax: not very polite are we? But indeed I am.
He put me back in bed and looked at me with serious eyes.
,, I'll leave when I'm able to d-don't worry and I'm sorry for being unpolite"

The archon watched me quietly and then put his hand on my forehead.
Morax: how about a contract?
I never made one. What does he want from me? And why did the Yaksha save me?
,, I don't know... "
Morax: how old are you.
Looking down I mumbled thousand.
Morax: young indeed. The contract will be that you're under Xiaos watch and aren't allowed to devour anyone if he doesn't allow.
,, who i-is Xiao?"
I had an idea but wanted to hear it.
Morax: the Yaksha who brought you to me.
With that the archon left and I was thinking about the things that just happened.

I must have fallen asleep because as I opened my eyes I saw the Yaksha called Xiao watching me.
,, uhm... Hi?"
,,you're still issued by the wound I caused."
Sitting up I ignored the pain and giggled quiet, scratching my head.
,, I'm bad at healing"
,, I see... "
Still giggling quiet I looked at him and noticed that he was thinking about something.
,, show me your demon form"
I became quiet but still looked at him.
,, why? "
,, it's an order."
Remembering what the geo archon said I slowly let my human form fade. Xiaos eyes became a little bit bigger as he saw me.
,, you really never hurt anyone. But without eating how are you alive. "

He made me nervous and so I put my broken hands into my lap and looked down.
,, my friends brought me food... But that was a few years ago..."
His voice changed a little and I noticed a hand that came into my sight.
,, the last time you ate was before I killed them, right?"
Nodding I took his hand. It felt cold but comfortable.
,, we'll get you food then. "
He held my hand and went to a other place with me. The blood smell was hypnotic for my starved body.
,, X-xiao I can't control m-myself"
Covering my mouth I accidentally bit my hand.
,, I figured. Here eat those"
Pointing at dead humans he let go of my hand and I jumped to them but noticed that one was warm so I chose the cold one and bit it.

,, even without control you don't devour living beings. Interesting. "
Drinking every last drop I licked the rest off my hand.
,, cold is better. My sister told me that"
Dancing around the warm body I smile as it's soul appeared and went to the sky.
,, you didn't fall into the trap. So what's your name? "
Still dancing I enjoyed the upcoming wind blowing through my hair.
