Nicholas

This morning is cursed. My car broke down, so did my coffee machine, I failed at finding evidence again and then her. Since Olive told me the name of the new addition to the executive team, I've been wishing, praying for it to not be her. Hayley Campbell. Ever since I met her at an engagement party, I've been trying to forget her. Erase her from my mind but she just doesn't go away and now she's here, standing right in front of me, staring at me eyes widened. She finally blinks, twice and then breaks the silence,"Hey. um.....hi?"
"Morning" I say dryly .
The expression on her face changes for a moment and then she smiles. She smiles like she's in fucking heaven.
"Good morning. I'm Hayley. Remember we met at Lina's p-"
I interrupt her, "I know.I could never forget you Hayley."
I realise what I just said when I see her stunned expression and quickly explain myself, " I have a good memory."
"Oh. Um okay." She smiles again.

That fucking smile.

I'm about to handover and explain her the tasks but a man's voice interrupts me. "Morning Parker. I need you to- now who is this beautiful woman?"
Andres Kennedy- the man who has the power to ruin my life. He looks at her, ogles her like she's his damn mistress. Something burns in my chest and all I want to do is gouge his eyes out. I would have no problem doing so if he weren't the CEO of the company and the one person who had the power to ruin my life. The bastard, Andres Kennedy thinks of women as objects to satisfy his pleasures. Fucking womanizer.

" Morning sir. I'm Hayley Campbell. I'm new to the executive department." Her sweet voice brings me back from my thoughts.  The discomfort is clearly visible on her face and now I want to give him a slow death. Before he can say anything I say dryly, "We'll discuss whatever you want to after I give Ms. Campbell her tasks." He looks irritated but wouldn't dare to oppose me because he knows 'his company' won't last a day without me. So he leaves.
I explain the tasks to her ignoring all her attempts to to create a friendly conversation. Friends is the last thing I want to be with her.
