New Beginning (Adopted by PTX)

Chapter 3

(PTX POV)
The last 10 minutes seemed to take 10 years. We anxiously waited. Kevin couldn't sit down, Mitch couldn't stop checking his phone for the time, Scott chewed his nails, Kirstie couldn't make up her mind if she wanted to sit or stand, and Avi couldn't stop talking.

We felt the brakes. We all jumped up out of our seats. 12:00 right on the spot.

We climbed out of the bus and went inside the orphanage. A lady came up to us. "Are you here to adopt?"

"Yes." We all said in unison.

"Kids! We have some people here!"

There were little babies, toddlers, kids, then the teens. We saw Shelby and smiled, she waved. Then we saw our favorite and smiled wide. Maxx saw us and raised an eyebrow.

"Can we talk to the teenage girls?" Kirstie asked. There were only 4 of them. Shelby, Maxx, and two other girls. We decided Maxx would go last.

The two other girls went first. We didn't really care but we asked them questions, it was a quick 5 minutes for each of the girls.

Then Shelby walked up. "Hey guys." She said. "Hi."

"So I'm guessing you are here to adopt Maxx. You guys will really like her. Take good care of her, please."

"We will." She smiled "Bye." She waved.

Maxx was sent over. "We meet again." She said.

(Maxx's POV)
"Y'all the family that's adopting Shelby?" They smiled. "What?"

"We're adopting you!" They said at the same time. I looked around the room, seeing if they were even talking to me. I pointed to myself. "Me?"

They nodded. Mrs. S walked over and said time was up. "Who would you like to adopt?" She asked. Mitch stepped forward. "We would like to adopt Maxxine."

I smiled. Now knowing that these people actually care, I feel...loved. "I'll help her pack." Shelby said. I ran upstairs with her.

"Here's this bag Maxx." She handed me a backpack. I put my phone in the zipper. "Thanks Shelbs for everything." I hugged her and she hugged back.

She walked me back down the stairs and right to my new family. I felt the tears fall down my face and I turned to her again. She was doing the same. Cole stepped towards me and I walked to him. "Bye Cole." I hugged him.

"Bye Maxx. Love you."

"Love you too." I smiled. Shelby hugged me again. "You need to get adopted. I don't want you living in this dump" I said she laughed. "I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too."

Scott took both of my bags and lead me back to the bus. I wiped a tear away and looked back. I waved one last time to Shelby and Cole. The engine started and we drove off.

I smiled. "What you thinking about, sis?" Mitch asked.

"Shelbs and Cole. We are actually all getting adopted on the same day. Well they might get adopted today or soon."
Mitch smiled.

"So what's the plan today?" I asked. "We're going to eat. Then whatever before 5:30. We have to be out of New York and be ready for Michigan. "Mitch answered.

"Where you want to eat? We'll take you anywhere."

"I don't exactly know where to eat. Like I've never really had anything beside like McDonald's." I stuck my finger outside of my mouth and pretended to gag. Mitch chuckled.

"Take me anywhere. I'll be glad to go. Wait, no sushi. Makes my stomach turn just thinking about that." Mitch laughed again.

"Pizza, steak, French, Chinese, Indian, and I'm sure plenty more options." Scott said getting more to the point.

"Um. Pizza? I'm not good at making decisions."

Everyone agreed on pizza and we went to Pala Pizza. The pizza was the most amazing pizza I've ever had. I think I've only had pizza once.

"That was great! Thanks!" I said sitting on the couch thing. It was 1:30. 4 more hours. "No need to thank us, sweetie." Kirstie said with a smile.

"How 'bout we go shopping!" Kirstie said. I nodded my head. "Me, Maxx, and Mitch will be together and Avi, Kevin, Scott?" Kirstie said again practically jumping up and down. The four boys nodded and we headed out.

The mall was more than huge. It was two stories but it had tons of stores.

"Where do you like to shop Maxx?" Kirstie asked tossing the strap of her purse over her shoulder.

"Hot Topic. That's were I bought most of my clothes. I didn't have a lot but there was clothes."

"We're gonna go to almost every store anyways." Mitch said.

Kirstie had a handful of stuff, so did Mitch. And to my surprise, so did I.

"I feel like we should model every clothing material we bought." I laughed. "Oh my gosh. Maxx! We could do a Superfruit video with all of us and you modeling stuff!" Mitch said almost dropping his bags.

Kirstie gasped at the idea and nodded her head, I did the same.

Once we got to the bus we told the others. "We could film it in the hotel in Michigan!" Scott said.

"I'm in!" Avi said. "Same here." Kevin smiled. "Good you made it back in time to leave. It's 5:45." A lady with brown hair and glasses said. "Oh. You must be Maxx. They couldn't shut up about you. I'm Esther, Avi's sister."

I smiled. "Nice to meet you." She went back up front. "So how long is it to get to Michigan?" I asked. "Around 12 hours." Kevin said like it was nothing. "12 hours!?" They all nodded. "It's not that bad, actually." Scott said.

"It is to me. I've never been in a car for more than like an hour." Scott laughed. "I guess we're gonna have to do something." I said.

"Eat, sleep, drink." Mitch said never taking his eyes of his phone. Scott raised an eyebrow. "Nooo. We should let Maxx get to know us and we learn about her."

"We should ask her a question, she answers, then we can answer the question we asked." Kirstie said. Maxx agreed.

"I'll start." Kirstie said. "What's your favorite color?"

"Black or red." They all gave me like 5 favorite colors.

Mitch turned and asked what my favorite PTX song was.

"Well. There's way to many but I'll pick Aha or Mary did you know."

"Follow up question. Why do you like them?"

"Aha 'cause it's kinda edgy and creepy. It slays and the whole thing is just perfection. Mary did you know because it's flawless. When Kevin started singing I almost started crying because I was a shock and woah. I could go on." They laughed and Kevin couldn't wipe the smile off his face.

We continued this for almost an hour. It was about seven. "Did you see our sing off performances?" Mitch asked. "No! Can I see them?" Mitch pulled his laptop out and went to YouTube.
