"Hey" Juniper said as he sat down beside Sussie.
"Hey" she replied, looking at the boy as he sat down. She looked away at he hands. It was weird. She couldn't speak past a simple Hi.. She used to be so social, maybe it was the new environment, everything was so much bigger here. So many new faces. It all felt wrong.
"What's your name?" The boy asked, sussie looked back up. "Sussie" she said softly, her bangs falling in front her eyes. This was the first person to talk to her. She couldn't screw this up. All of her other friends probably were at their school making friends.. She should too.. "Yours?"
"Juniper, but you can call me Juni." He smiled, barring his teeth. "Sussie is a nice name" He looked away from the blonde haired girl. "You a freshman too?" "Yeah.." She mumbled
"I like your hair" his eyes were focused on the basketball court. She nodded. "T-thanks.. I like yours too"
Juni chuckled. "You sound nervous. You feeling okay nerd?"sussie pushed her hair away from her eyes " yeah.. I-im fine. Just.. F-first day.. Y'know?" Nerd.. He called her a nerd. A small smile formed on her lips. "Yeah, that's fair. First day"
"Juniper, that's a rare name" he tilted his head, raising an eyebrow as he looked back over at the girl. "yeah? How so?"
"I've only ever heard it one other time" "hm? Well I've never met a sussie before."
"Yeah?" She chuckled "yeah"
