"LET!S GET SOME ANSWERS, SHALL WE?" Savannah asked her cousins and sister. All of them nodded. Isla walked into the other room and came out with a laptop. Savannah stood over him with George holding him down and Mia sewing up a cardigan for fun and as a disguise. "Now.." Savannah looked down."Who are you?" She demanded. The man did not speak. He just stayed there, sitting and being pinned down.
"SHE SAID YOU ARE YOU!" Isla yelled. The man flinched and quickly squished out his name, "EDWARD!" Isla quickly typed away, making sure no mistakes were in sight.
"Edward what?" Isla asked. "Edward Duke of.. Duke of Windsor." He said.
Isla finished typing and clicked the key to load the internet. Her mouth scrolled down and a click was heard as the Wikipedia page was opened. Mia's sewing kit was also heard with the clashes. Isla looked at the photo and scrunched her nose. "What year are you from?" George asked.
"1937." The man concluded. "So.. before Cecilia.." George whispered. "Read it out!" Savannah said.
"Edward VIII (Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David), later known as the Duke of Windsor, was King of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Empire and Emperor of India from 20 January 1936 until his abdication in December of the same year." Isla read out from the Wikipedia, skipping the birth and death date so the man didn't have to know when he died.
"Edward was born during the reign of his great-grandmother Queen Victoria as the eldest child of the Duke and Duchess of York, later King George V and Queen Mary. He was created Prince of Wales on his 16th birthday, seven weeks after his father succeeded as king. As a young man, Edward served in the British Army during the First World War and undertook several overseas tours on behalf of his father. The Prince of Wales gained popularity due to his charm and charisma, and his fashion sense became a hallmark of the era. After the war, his conduct began to give cause for concern; he engaged in a series of sexual affairs that worried both his father and then–British prime minister Stanley Baldwin." Isla finished another paragraph.
"Ah yes! I am quite the charismatic person as many women say." He boasted
"Yeah right, you're so ugly and crusty not even that a rat would date you. So maybe shut up for once in your life!" Isla yelled. She was travelling Kathleen quite a lot.
The man took offence to this, despite this coming from a fucking 6-7 year old. "How about you shut up you ungrateful shit!" He yelled. Savannah stood in front of him. "Do not speak to my sister like that!" Savannah yelled.
He was tied up even tighter and a gag was put in his mouth to refrain his speech. "Keep going Isla.. wait.. find something that could be related with us!" Savannah said. "Search up G-"she began.
"I already did that. Let me read this article.." Isla said.
"Not all royal sibling feuds and fallouts have been quite as bloody as the ones discussed above. A more genteel break occurred in 1937 when Edward VIII – having fallen in love with an 'unsuitable' woman (the twice-married American socialite Wallis Simpson) – gave up the crown. His more shy and awkward brother reluctantly took up the mantle as George VI, and the relationship between the siblings was never the same again." Isla began.
Edward's face darkened.
"Edward was annoyed that George didn't grant his wife the right to be styled Her Royal Highness. He was also indignant when the king forbade members of the Royal Family from attending his wedding the following year. Edward became increasingly embittered at how he felt he was being treated by his brother and the rest of the family, even writing that their mother, Queen Mary, had 'ice in place of blood in the veins'." She continued slowly.
"Edward's much-publicised visit to Nazi Germany, and seeming sympathy for Hitler's cause, added to the tensions between the brothers. Edward late wrote about how bitter he felt that George continued to 'persecute' and 'frustrate' him during World War II. The rift never healed, and George died relatively young in 1952. Edward continued to live as a jet-setting celebrity until his own death." Isla finally finished.
"HMMMM!" Edward went. George took the gag out of his mouth. "How is my brother! Do you know?" He asked. Isla frowned. "I'm finding another one..." Isla said.
"That one looks quite promising, I." Mia clicked on one. Finishing her cardigan already.
"It was a cold winter's day at the Royal Lodge Windsor on December 11, 1936. Two brothers—one a former king, one the new king—took leave of each other and the roles they had assumed their entire lives. The former king, Edward, Duke of Windsor, was off with American divorcée Wallis Simpson, the woman for whom he had abdicated his birthright. According to biographer Sarah Bradford, Edward kissed the hand of his younger brother Bertie—now King George VI.
"Thank you, sir, for all your kindness to me," Edward said. When George VI protested, his older brother put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "It's right, old man, I must step off with the right foot from the first." " Isla began. Then the door opened.
"We found her!" Louise's voice died out as someone walked in front of her.
She was an elegant lady, much like them all. Her hair was blond and wavy, flowing around elegantly with a headband on to keep some hair out of her face. She resembled a younger cousin, Kathleen, deeply. The woman had lovely eyes and she wore elegant clothes as if she had finished a photo shoot. "Margarita!" Mia jumped up and hugged her cousin.
"Can someone tell this child to stop pinning me down! He is ugly and I do not need an ugly child holding me down!" Edward yelled.
"DO NOT SPEAK TO MY BROTHER LIKE THAT YOU STUPID CUNT!" Kathleen yelled.
