"I understand you sent 13 of my Marines to the infirmary, not including my own son."
Valeriña and Zoro were now talking to Captain Morgan, the father of the man from the bar, whos name they now knew to be Helmeppo. standing next to Helmeppo, whose face was now black and purple with bruises, a little red from blood, one eye closed and puffy from pain, and trying to stay as far away from the man and woman next to him, as he could.
"Without drawing a blade, I might add." His eyes looked over them as he hummed. "Impressive."
Zoro answered for both of them, his posture still and straight, much like hers. "We didn't wanna make a mess." The captain listened to his comment with interest. "Roronoa Zoro, Valeriña Adelía Vursòs. The Demons." He chuckled their nickname, while walking towards them with intent that everyone could see.
"Most feared pirate hunters in the east blue."
They both raised their chins at the statement, they were proud of their titles, after all they had worked hard for them, spilled blood, tears, and it had taken years for them to get their titles.
He hummed over them, looking down at the spiky red hair sticking out of the bag that was next to them. "Hmm. I'd say you live up to your reputation."
Valeriña spoke up for the first time, since entering the room, she didn't like the man infront of her, truthfully she didn't like anyone in the room but the man attached to her side, and she was fine with that. "If it's all the same to you, we'll just take our money and go."
The captain walked closer to the three, looking only towards Zoro. "You'll collect your bounty, but the penalty for assaulting a Marine is seven days strung up in the yard. No food or water."
Helmeppo started to raise his lips lopsidedly at their misfortune, before wincing from the pain that shot from his split lip, and Valeriñas words.
"You can try to arrest us-" Zoro started but Valeriña interrupted with a threat she would absolutely keep. "-but your brat will be the first one I kill."
"Hey, she can't speak to me that way!" Helmeppo said, pointing a finger at Valeriña and Zoro's faces. His father suddenly smacked him across the face with his ax, throwing him far back towards the guards.
"I like you two." The Captain stated after a moment before he began circling the duo. "Oh, we should be working for the same team." They stood straight, as he swirled their bodies like a predator examines its prey, keeping their eyes forward.
