Chapter 3: Death

Millie Ranger POV

I sighed as I was rubbing Rhaga's snout. He purred. I then saw Shane walk up to me. "Seriously?! You allowed your dragon to attack someone?!"

"Ed was hitting Carol. Rhaga did what I taught him to. To defend those who cannot defend themselves." I said. "Shane is right, Millie. You need to send him away." My mother said. "No! He is my son—" Shane slapped me across the cheek.

Yaga roared angrily and he got in front of me. He growled as he got in front of me. Shane backed up.

I was sitting at the Quarry with Rhaga. He sat beside me. "I'm not getting rid of you." I told him. He licked my cheek. I smiled.

I then turned to see Yaga and Taga and Jessica. The two dragons went and played with Rhaga. "I cussed mom out for what she allowed to happen." I nodded.

My sister moved my hair and looked at it. "I almost allowed Yaga to kill him..." I smiled. I then saw Mom walk down. "Seriously?! You cuss me out?!" She yelled. Jessica and I turned. "You allowed him to hit Millie!"

"So what?! She could learn from a little discipline." I flinched. "MOM!"

I was laying against Wolf's chest for dinner. Ren'fri was with Jessica. I then felt Wolf kiss my cheek. "Hey, what happened?" He asked softly when he noticed the bruise.

"I was rough housing with Rhaga and he accidentally hit my cheek." Wolf looked at Jessica. She gave him a look.

He then gently rubbed my hair. I smiled and leaned into him. Suddenly Amy got up. I turned. "Where are you going?" Andrea asked. "I have to pee! Jeez you try to be discreet around here." We all laughed.

I smiled as Rhaga was laying down behind me and Wolf. "We're out of toilet paper?!"

We then heard a scream. I turned. A walker bit into Amy's arm. Everyone jumped up as more walkers came out of the woods.

I jumped up. The dragons roared and Jessica ran to Yaga as him and Taga protected her and my baby. Rhaga roared and he spat fire at a few walkers.

Lori pushed Carl down as Rhaga fired his blast down behind them.

Scar heard screaming and saw fire. "Oh, God!" They ran towards the roads.

I then turned to see my mom get bit. "NO!"

I heard a loud shot and saw Dad shot the walker who bit her. Dad then grabbed her.

I turned and saw Jessica was trying to calm Ren'fri. I ran to her and took her. My baby screamed as she was scared. "It's okay. Shhh." Ren'fri then reached for Wolf. He took her into his arms. Wolf then hugged me and Jessica.

I sighed and felt like crying. I then turned. Rhaga then sniffed Ren'fri. He then licked my cheek softly.

I then saw my mother die in my father's arms. I heard another gunshot and flinched.

I was asleep on my father's chest. He hasn't left my side since mom died. I then woke up to hear Ren'fri cooing. I smiled. I then picked her up. "Hey, cutie." She giggled and reached for me.

I picked her up. My dad then stood up. Ren'fri giggled as she saw him. She then reached for him. Dad took her and she giggled. She snuggled close to his chest. I smiled. I then hugged my father. He hugged me back and kissed my head. "Come on."
