A sixteen year old Constance walked into her home after getting off of the bus. She sat her bookbag by the door and made her way to her room.

"Where you going little girl?" Her mom asked, sitting at the dinner table.

"I'm going to get out of my school clothes, Hey mama!" Constance made sure to speak.

"Why these dishes not clean Constance? I'm sick of you going to bed without these dishes ain't cleaned! I'm getting sick of this shit." Her mother began to rant.

Constance stood in fear.

"It's a everyday thing with your ass! I'm tired of it. You think you so damn grown, laying around my house, eating my food, and not cleaning shit? That shit stops today!" She screamed at Constance.

What she was saying was not true, constance would always clean up. She was a very clean person in fact, her room stayed clean along with her bathroom.

Her mother had a tendency of blaming everything on her, although she never actually did any of those things.

Constance never experienced family love. From neither her mother, nor father.

"I'm gone make yo ass regret not listening to me little bitch!"

Sariyah began to grab her hair and throw her on the ground, all while stepping on her stomach.

"Please get off!" Constance cried.

"Shut up bitch."

Suddenly, They both heard the door open. All their attention went to the door as Constance's father, Omari, walked in.

"Well look at this." He smiled at the scene.

Omari sat his food down on the edge of this couch, and took his belt off.

Constance began crying harder with every step he took. He began swinging his belt at her as Sariyah stood on, not caring if she got in the face.

The door being still cracked, was quietly opened again, revealing her aunt, Sage.

Sage looked in fear at the sight in front of her. She tried to tiptoe pass the scene but that was a fail.

"Oh Hey baby sister! How are you?" Sariyah smiled and asked.

Sage forced a smile upon her face, while also walking backwards into the small room she was destined to be in. "I'm doing good sis."

Sariyah smiled back at her while Sage ran off into the room.

"I'm about to take Constance to carry all these groceries and do all my shopping." Constance heard in distance.

She soon heard foot steps, but didn't dare to look up.

"Constance get up! Come on." Sage whispered.

The young girl slowly stood up, wincing with every move she made, and followed behind her aunt.

"You better do whatever your auntie tell you to do! I don't care what it is, if I hear anything bad, that's yo ass Constance." Sariyah sternly said as Constance walked out the door.

She dropped her head and paused. "Yes Ma'am."

Soon, the both were out the door and inside Sage's car.

"Calm down Constance. I'm not gonna actually make you do that." Sage grabbed her hands.

Constance looked up at Sage with tears in her eyes. She finally felt like someone actually cared about her.

"Thank you. Thank you so much."

"I just want to get you out the house. We're gonna get groceries, most will be for my own home so we'll leave them in the car. You'll have to carry all the other ones in the house with no complaints so they won't be suspicious." Sage explained to her.

Constance immediately nodded, just happy to be away from all the drama.

"I'll try to do this often, but I don't want them to become suspicious about this."

Not too soon after this, they walked into the walmart.

"Get some things you like, I have to keep them with me! But you'll get them soon." Sage kissed constance on her cheek.

Constance ran off to get a couple of toys, a blanket, and personal hygiene things to keep in her actual home.

Constance dragged the groceries with her auntie on her trail. The young girl sighed as she stepped in, seeing her parents sitting on the couch waiting for her.

"How did she do? I hope she didn't show out, I would hate to fuck her up!" Sariyah immediately said.

"Calm down sis. She did good. No words from her at all unless I said something first, and she carried every grocery in." Sage held Constance's shoulder while speaking.

Omari smiled. "That's all we want, is for you to do what people ask. Now go put those groceries up and wash those dishes."

This was constance's fate, she always wished she was oblivious.
