"Can you hear me?" A distant echo in the void. "Sweetheart, can you hear my voice?" It dawns closer .

The aftermath of my shock slowed everything around me, awakening me up to reality.

"Are you alone?" My ears rang with a whistle as the voice came closer. I'm numb. Numbed to my shock, distantly I stare into the darkness in my flooded room until a glowing speck of light twinkled in the corner of my peripheral.

Voices, voices of humans as the water rolled them in. With a blink I glanced over blankly, a blinding light in my face made me wince, there were people in the water? It is not safe. I blink profusely from my gaze sending a silent prayer to the heavens to let me keep the soul I wanted to rid, in return to keep them safe.

"No." The sound from my voice box reached No one. I look out into the water, they have not yet emerged, I see no sign of them, I could not be sure.

"Come with me Sweetheart."

Crystal clear the woman's voice became, My heart broke, the memory of the First Lady that met a horrendous Fate trying to protect me.

I do not trust the water, I don't like it's secrets, my knees pressed against my chest stifling my cries as await.

An answer I need to a question that burdened me deeply, safely the boat reached me, from there were a few of the citizens from my cul de sac wrapped in blankets, rescuers on each side.

If they still lurked in the depths they would have surfaced the minute the boat entered, leisurely I rose my shivering arm towards the woman in the blue jacket.

"Your cold sweetheart, it's ok." Gently She wraps her palm around mine when I heard a splash in the distance.

"It's ok sweetie it's just a fish" She ensures, attempting to put my fear to rest. Unknowing to the demonic form of said fish. They are watching, my paranoia refused to sustain and I wasn't willing to stand by and watch this go south with everyone.

"Go please!" I cry to the woman, the blue hue of the early rising Sun captured her expression.

Curiously she insisted to my aid, but the more she did the more unease I felt, fearfully scanning around the murky waters for a sign of the creatures.

"M-my daddy"

"Your daddy hon?" She moves the flashlight to every corner of the room, silent waters, not even a ripple. But When the light hit the corner of my closet it was as if something moved away from the beam ducking back into the deep.

"Daddy isn't here honey."

The answer I was afraid of. "They took him." I whispered sniffling.

"Who did?"

I looked her in the eyes. "The scary fish man"

Her expression twisted in confusion before she and the men glanced back at each other in question. "The fish man?"

I sniffled before bursting into tears.

A sound of a click before a static noise, "Team do be vigilant and mindful, shark infestation. I repeat shark infestation."

"Copy that."

"No, it wasn't a shark Ms."

"It's ok, honey" she reassured wrapping her arms around me, my kicking and screaming meant nothing as I was forcefully pulled and tugged into the mini boat. I wiggled and fought before being thrown to my knees.

"It wasn't a shark! Please, it will kill us please!" My screaming and crying did nothing except aggravate, and worry everyone around me as they hug each other tighter, afraid of my next move.
