Agatha was walking home one evening. Little did she know that her journey to eternal life was about to begin. As she walked through the park, she felt a figure in the darkness pulling at her clothes. Agatha turned and stared into space, too afraid to move. Before she could take a step back, the mysterious figure grabbed her arm and pulled her into the darkness. For a moment she couldn't tell where she was, but then she noticed the smell of blood and decay emanating from her attacker.
The man held her firmly in place and spoke. He informed her that he was going to convert her into a vampire and that she would have to complete the process by drinking human blood. Agatha wanted to scream, to run away and forget what was happening, but she was held in place by an invisible force.
Slowly, the vampire began the process. He made two parallel cuts on Agatha's wrists, then sank his razor-sharp teeth into them. Agatha felt intense pain and shivered, but somehow remained calm. He began to speak a foreign spell and as he did so, he tilted Agatha's wrist towards his mouth and let the blood flow freely. Agatha felt her heart beat faster as the vampire drank from her. Then, when he was done, he released her and she felt something change inside her.
The night was very cold and Agatha shivered a little as she walked down the dark alley. Although she was happy to be free again during the night, she was still getting used to her new vampire form. Her senses were sharper, hearing, smell and sight were sharper than ever. She could hear every little whisper created by the wind and felt the energy of the life forms around her.
There was one more thing she must do to become completely one, she must drink the blood of another human being. She was reluctant to do it because she had so many doubts about it, but she could also feel a vampire's hunger boiling inside her and hissed in frustration.
She quickly found her victim. A young woman was walking, seemingly unaware of the dangers of the night. Agatha felt her heart beat faster as she got closer to her. She wanted to turn away but she knew she couldn't. She had to take what she needed. She must complete the process.
With a heavy heart, she grabbed the woman and began to feed on her. As she drank, she could feel the strength and power of the vampire blood flowing throughout her body. She felt stronger than ever.
Agatha didn't know that the woman she chose to feed on was also a vampire, but a powerful one, which makes Agatha a special vampire, greatly admired by her kind. She became a powerful vampire, a terrifying creature that frightened many people at night.
She must have an “alternate form”. So she sought to achieve it and soon realized that she could use her new strength and power to transform her human body into a bat-like appearance.
Agatha still sometimes regretted her choice that night but she also felt the vampire inside her, strong and powerful, knowing it was the right thing to do.
Author's note. This is my contribution to the literary world of vampires. I know it's a very simple short story but I have to learn to write better before writing longer stories.
