Whether we shrivel or grow
reap or sow
we can always reach a new height.
Shocked or shunned by the light
it depends not on what you know,
or what time of day is your foe,
both remain in your sight.
Neither shine a bit more bright,
each with a pulsing glow,
a mirror of each others woe.
Yet we find a special plight
for those of which touch the light
and still say "No,
I rather go."
