"Lian?"

"Lian? Earth on Lian?" Amelia whose been talking for a few minutes but Lian, however, was not paying attention and was simply gazing into nowhere.

The woman was a bit pissed at him for not listening to her story so she snapped out and she shake Lian's body to get his attention back to him.

"Oh, what again?" Lian got back already on earth and he realized that Amelia was about to smack his ass down. "Sorry I haven't slept for nights" She shook her head in disbelief to him.

"As I was saying, my ex and I, you know uhm how should I say this? It's like we're in a hooking-up situation"  Lian was shocked and got familiar with the term she said.

"What? Like you guys?"

"Yeah, we're doing that, like casual. Like ex with benefits thingy?"

"Since when?"

"You're not listening to me earlier" she sigh at him.

"Sorry, okay it's my fault"

"So back to what I was saying earlier, we're hooking up. I know it's not a good idea. I think we're doing casual sex you know because I guess we're both comfortable with each other. After all, we used to date. I guess for her these things won't get us in complicated situations like we did before"

"So how about your feelings? Isn't it getting you compromised? You told me you love her? Why do you agree on that?" he worried.

But then Amelia just nodded as she accepted her fate.

"Right? I know it's a bullshit idea and I wouldn't lie my ass here that I still don't love her. I only agree with her because I still wanna be close to her" She sips on the iced coffee and looks away to view from outside the restaurant.

She and Lian were casually meeting up after their failed so-called blind date. And Lian felt good that he finally had someone to talk to here in the city where people were everywhere but still felt lonely.

He had known her but he didn't know all of Amelia's story yet. But he knew that she was a good person and she deserved the best in her life.

"You're worth a price Amelia. Get out there as soon as early, it's not too late" he warned her and he knew she wouldn't cut anything with her ex yet. He hopes someday she will listen to him.

She just went silent for a while. Thinking what Lian said to her.

While Lian battles inside if he would tell her about his and Yi's situation. He wants a piece of advice for it.

"Uhm, I have this friend..." he opened up and she looked at him attentively waiting for to tell him something. "Yeah, I have this friend of mine. My friend's friend asks him to hook up with him. And my friend didn't agree with it. What do you think?" he managed to tell her that story without involving himself. He just doesn't want her to know.

Amelia just nods as she gets the story from Lian. She sipped again then she faced him.

"So Yi asked you? And you didn't agree with it. Hmm" Without realizing what was his friend saying he nodded as he agreed with her summarization of the story and she named those allegedly friends of Lian.

"Yes, he asked me--- Wait??? It's not me? and Yi--- it's my friend and his friend" he knew he fucked up. She can't lie to this woman. She grins at him and successfully puts those into his mouth.

Lian is getting red for being embarrassed in front of her.

"How did you know?" he gave up to her. He can't save himself.

"Well, I just saw Yi's Instagram stories. He's here in New York. I know he will go back after what happened between you two last week" Amelia put a devilish smile on her face and Lian's face went into pale white.

"Hold on. What did you say? What else do you know?"

"Everything. Especially you kissed him----"

"Okay. Okay. Stop. I thought you were already sleeping at that time?" Lian hid his face from another embarrassment.

"Don't worry it's only the three of us" she said as she tried to comfort him by patting his back.

"I can't believe I turned my world upside down"

"Base on your action. You look like you have feelings for him" Amelia said while grinning at him.

"Amelia?!?!? stop putting those words into my mouth"

"And if you don't feel anything about him you wouldn't act like him. So tell me, do you like him?" she keeps cornering him.

"What? No!?!"

"Then good. Because you guys are friends. You both consented to that kiss. You both agree on that" She gave up and settled. She took and held his hand.

"But friends don't do that right?" he asked her.

"You're right. Friends don't have feelings for their friends. Unless you felt something on that kiss" she replied. Lian could only nod his head as he agreed. But something wasn't right at that moment.
