Silence buzzed their ears as they waited for the recruits. They looked around the dimly lit room, the stolen paintings, and the clock.
"They're late," Allie said. "I'ma go find 'em and beat 'em."
Ihuoma looked over her shoulder. She opened her mouth, trying to say something. Ryan laughed at her as Allie looked over, glaring.
"Have something to say, Ryan?" she saw Ihuoma's mouth open. "Or you Ihuoma?"
Ihuoma stood up tall and said "I know Mojo Jojo isn't talking, didn't your mom have cancer, skill issue,"
Allie squeezed her fists, turning pale. Ryan and Jairus looked at them and Allie walked towards the door and kicked it open.
Three recruits slipped in.
"Sorry, we tried to picklock it," Misha said, looking at Vicktoriia.
"You think thieves would make their damn fortress fragile?" Allie snapped.
Misha turned pink as Elias skipped in anxiously. He looked at the four figures standing before him and said "You? You? Your the robbers?"
"Were mailmen." Ihuoma said.
"ANYWAY! Were supposedly hiring you three bad pick lockers to steal this picture. This painting, if it's the original copy, is worth 75 billion dollars. It could pay you after the mission is complete, and it could pay for our schemes for the next 15 years. That is if we pay you." Allie snapped.
Ihuoma uncovered the sheet, covering the square, and Misha, Vicktoriia, and Elias gasped in shock.
"Payments will be considered on how well you do the mission and if you get caught," Allie said. "And I won't be bailing you out of jail, 'cause you probably will spoil our little hiding hole."
"You said you would pay them," Jairus said.
"GET GOING, before I don't pay you." Allie snapped at the recruits. They scrambled out of the room, tripping over their ankles.
"Works every time," Allie muttered.
Ihuoma, Ryan, Jairus, and Allie walked to the ticket booth.
"4 tickets to the Royal Teacher Museum Of Popularity," Ryan said, trying not to laugh at its name. Allie slammed money onto the counter and they walked away, hissing insults at each other.
Allie laid awake in her dull, blank room as she tried to listen for the recruits. Little did she know that they were screaming their faces off in the museum. She fell asleep, happy that she won't have to pay them, because they were already late.
Ihuoma banged on the door and Allie shot up and sluggishly followed her out of the room.
"Museum trip." Ihuoma passed her a muffin and a coffee.
Ryan and Jairus came out and grabbed a muffin and they all walked out of the door.
They walked past people fumbling with paperwork and homeless people as they headed to the museum. They took a deep breath and walked inside. They saw The Belcastro in its spot and Elias, Vicktoriia, and Misha on the ground, stiff and gray.
"Hello I am Ro-" the guide looked at where their eyes traveled and screamed.
"SOMEONE CALL 911 NOW! HELP! THEY AREN'T BREATHING!"
The cops and the ambulance came by as an investigation started to take shape as the doctors raced the bodies into the ambulance. The Police walked by.
"What time did you get here at?" they asked.
"8:00 am. On the dot. Opening time." Allie said.
"Thank you," they said, taking notes in little notepads. After they were satisfied with their notes, they walked away.
